The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Kenmore Elite Microwave 721.79209010 Open Door and Microwave starts running;

Yes, a bad door interlock switch would cause this; either the top switch or the bottom switch. (The middle switch is called the Monitor switch. If it were bad, you microwave would blow fuses as soon as you press Start.)

Is their any harm from the microwave to the person?

Yes, if it really is operating the magnetron and generating microwaves, but that is "virtually" (nearly; almost) impossible, because all microwave ovens come with a special door switch (called a monitor switch) whose job it is to cause the internal fuse to blow and kill power to the microwave. It is more likely that just the fan and light stay on, but not the magnetron, and that is caused by a different defective door switch. (All microwave ovens come with 3 or 4 door switches, and they all must work right for your microwave oven to operate.) You better call a professional repairman to have that microwave checked & repaired.

When you close the door, the system will not program , on our kenmore microwave oven. Now it trips the breaker. Why?

I am assuming that closing the door is a key to when the problem arises and will usually lead to a faulty door switch(s). The door switch must be made in order for the microwave safety circuit to be completed and let the microwave know that it is safe to operate. Door switch(s) are one repair worth making on a microwave as most other repairs are not worth the cost of the microwave oven. If you are handy you can check to make sure the switches are closing with a multimeter. Please make sure you have unplugged the microwave before attempting to check the switches. You do not need the power on to verify the closing of the door switch(s).

GE microwave (Model JE2160SF03) trips breaker when door opened

Remove the control panel, take pictures of the door switch wiring while they are still connected to the door switches, then remove the door switch assembly. Have someone at the appliance store check each switch and repair the ones that are defective.

I purchased a switch for $7, reinstalled the door switch assembly and the microwave is working fine now.

When opening microwave door, microwave is running

Your microwave oven's door interlock switch has failed. This is the switch that is supposed to shut off the microwave when the user opens the door.
Since parts for small appliances are unavailable (replacement parts are only available for major appliances), you'll have to either live with it or try to fix it by finding a similar microwave in someone's trash, and using that unit's door interlock switch...
Possibly a popsicle stick (or other safely non-conductive article) can be pushed into the appropriate
