Question about Coleman Powermate Premium Plus 6250W Portable Generator
Posted by Anonymous on
If gas is in carburetor but won't transfer to engine, try to spray down the carburetor 'tube', choke plate and jets with a carburetor cleaner spray. The jets are probably clogged, due to lack of use.
Also, you can try putting carburetor cleaner into the gas tank, a little bit.
If this does not immediately work, then a carburetor rebuild is required, where new jets are put in, and passageways are blown out with compressed air and sprayed with carburetor cleaner in a disassembled state.
If you store the unit with old gas for 3 months or so, then Stabil Gas treatment is recommended. If it's longer than 3 months then the carburetor should be drained or the engine run until it is out of gas in the float bowl.
This may seem a little funny, to do all this, but if one does this, then less expense for carburetor rebuilds can be avoided, over time.
Good luck on this repair.
