The machine ONLY jams when using the duplexing feature. If the rollers were to blame the product would jam on any and all print jobs. Thank you for your help.

Causes of jamsOccasionally, paper or other print media can become jammed during a print job. Some causes include the following events:

  • The input trays are loaded improperly or overfilled, or the media guides are not set properly.
  • Media is added to or removed from an input tray during a print job or an input tray is removed from the product during a print job.
  • The cartridge door is opened during a print job.
  • Too many sheets have accumulated in an output area, or sheets are blocking an output area.
  • The print media that is being used does not meet HP specifications. See Paper and print media .
  • The media is damaged or has foreign objects attached to it, such as staples or paper clips.
  • The environment in which the print media was stored is too humid or too dry.
Where to look for jamsJams can occur in these locations:
    • In the automatic document feeder (ADF)
    • In input areas
    • In the automatic duplexer
    • In output areas
    • Inside the product
Find and remove the jam by using the instructions on the following pages. If the location of the jam is not obvious, first look inside the product.Loose toner might remain in the product after a jam. This problem typically resolves itself after a few sheets have been printed. For more help click the link below:-- http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=3377075&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3377075&objectID=c01236183---------If the troubleshooting guide does not helps then its the problem of the gears and rubber roller in the duplex assembly from where the paper passes. The part has to be replaced to resolve the problem.------------------ Thanks. Use a thinner weight of paper is the best fix, also changing brands of paper helps.

Hello,

Among the most common problems with any make of printer are paper jams. A printer will jam for any number of reasons: It’s dirty, the wrong paper type is being used, or the rollers on the printer that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes, roller replacement can be a difficult job, the rollers are easily accessible. Regardless of the cause, when removing a paper jam, always pull the paper in the direction of the paper path, because pulling it backwards can severely damage the printer.

Also, you can uninstall the printer driver and reinstall back after uninstalling, this also help to fix printer jam.

Take care.

Hp4200 duplexer paper jam

If it jams every time, remove the duplexer and look for a piece of paper on the metal plate as the paper feeds out of the duplexer and back into the machine. Also use a file folder to push any jammed paper out from inside the duplex module.

What to do now hp 4700 13.xx.xx jams all different types.

With all you have done already I'm sure you have cleaned or replaced the pickup roller as this is the most likely cause.
This is a difficult printer to work on and parts are hard to come by so I would get an opinion from a local HP expert.
If the printer works okay with single-side jobs, you could just manually duplex your jobs.

The duplexer in our HP printer appears to be jammed. where is it located?

As you face the printer, walk around to the left side. You will see the power switch. Above the power switch is the duplexer. It pulls out.
You said the duplexer is jammed, so you might not be able to pull it out.

Is the duplexer jammed or is there paper jammed in the duplexer?

HP 1320 duplex printing paper jam

Managed to solve this myself: I disassembled the printer and noticed there was a paper jammed in the duplex tray. Rolls were all ok, but the paper blocked the use of the duplex pathway. For disassembly help check the HP 1320 service manual, which you can find on the net as a PDF.

Problem w/ Duplexing Attachment on HP PhotoSmart P1100 Printer

Maybe this would help:
Open the access door on the duplexer and clean the rollers with a damp cloth. If that solves the problem, I suggest using rubber rejuventator as a long term solution.
