My LG stopped receiving signal from my remote (I tried 2 different remotes and confirmed it was a problem with the TV). Is there any fix for this? Can I do it myself?

You can check to see if the remote IR receiver module is getting the 5vdc feeding it first, you will need a scope to look at the output signal from the IR board, or you spend $10 to try replacing the IR board. http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=LG+32LC7D+

Remote just stopped working the TV, but it still works the directv cable box

See step 2:
LG:
1) Test the remote:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

2) If the remote checked out OK, then look at the back of the TV for the "REMOTE INPUT", use a mini-phone plug and insert the plug into the remote input jack in and out a couple times to clean the switch contacts that select between the front IR receiver of the TV or the rear panel IR input jacks.

TV is not responding to remote. While changing channels this morning it stopped working. It will not change channels, sound or shut off. tried 2 other remotes with same results.

What is the make and model of this TV?
LG?
You need some verification first.

I have a 60 inch lg tv. The remote just stopped working Put in new batteries. Tv button lights up on remote but will not turn tv on.

Let me know model number of your 60 inch LG tv to find out possible cause of no remote operation.
I do not think that IR receiver is bad in your tv. Regarding dusty IR receiver lens, you can confirm it by sending remote signal by very close distance to tv.
There are few other possibilities of no remote operation problem instead of bad IR receiver.

Remotes does not function at all. Tried two different remotes, only manual switches work.

Remote sensor/ receiver mounted at tv front sounds defective and unable to sense/ receive remote signals.
Replace infrared remote sensor in tv to fix the issue.

My remote stopped working... I tried to reprogram my ATT universal remote then tried the remote that came with the tv. Neither is working.

The IR receiver in the TV may have gone out, but check the remote signal first.

Remote sensor on TV (LG 42PM1MA) seems to be broken. All of a sudden the remote stopped working. So I replaced the batteries. Still not working. So I figured the remote must have given up. So I went out to...

Have the technician check for 5 volts on the remote IR Sensor if present the the Remote sensor has failed. Have him replace it to factory Spec's. No need to replace entire main board when the sensor is no more 5 dollars....

LG 47LC7DF LCD TV Remote Sensor not working

IR senor may not be bad. Try using a different remote (universal) and program to TV. If universal remote works and your doesn't, you may need to purchase a remote instead of IR board. If you confirmed that the IR board is bad then replacing the IR board will fix the remote issue. IR board is an easy fix. Just open the back cover out and it's located right in the middle toward the bottom of the TV.

Olevia TV not receiving remote signal

Which 'universal' remote have you found that listed codes for Olevia??
And, if you have a TV shop in your area at all, they will likely have an IR (infrared) detector made to check remotes for output. The simple ones do not check for coding but will tell you if the remote is putting out any signal at all. Of the two ends, the receiver is typically more reliable than the transmitting end in your remote.
