Well try it nothing will happen to your dvd any way, but all I know is just when the dvd wont accept the format of it. depends on the dvd player how many formats it can read. such as divx, mp3, dts, dvd, hd-dvd, or else.

hope I helped you.

Please check if your blank DVD's are dual layer ( DL ) 8.5 GB disc. If so your player does not support dual layer writing. It will record only on 4.7GB single layer blank discs.

Hi,my sanyo dvd player model 7201 won't play dvds only cd why is that? When i insert a dvd it says no reading????

Your problem may be due to unsupported media - such as using Dual Layer disks, or a data type that is not recognized - such as Divx.

Videohelp.com maintains a database of DVD players and their limitations. Limitations are in the form of acceptable media, data format saved to the media, etc. Additionally, there are some 40 individual comments on this player, too. There's far too much info to paraphrase here, so I'll direct you to your player via this link.

I think that once you know what types of media and format of the data your player can read, you'll be in good shape. Please rate my reply - thanks!

Hi,

this is due to the settings of your player.
you should have settings for SP ( Standard Play ) LP ( Long Play ) et,c.
the quality may differ slightly, but you need to refer to your user manual for how to adjust the recording times. also if your dvd supports DL ( dual layer disks ) this will obviously double the recording times.
