I need to replace the lamp on my projection tv HITACHI ULTRAVISION 53UDX10B. it's difficult to find online. i will need to have the part number for the lamp.

Your model is the DP-15 chassis which is a CRT projection so you do not have a lamp like the DLP models do. You have three CRTs Red, Blue and Green instead of a single lamp.

Getting red, blue and green halos around images

I had a similar problem with red halos around images on my Hitachi rear projection TV. The problem was that the red convergence chip burned out. I replaced that and that fixed the problem. I found several forum posts on similar symptoms and fixes for Sony rear projection TVs by searching for "Sony rear projection convergence problem." Likely you've already tried the auto-convergence function for your set, if it has that.

Green bulb-or lamp on ultravision hitachi 57uwx20b does not work how much to replace?

On a projection television you will have to replace all three(red, blue, green) projection guns in a matched set, the reason is if you replace just the green gun, your picture will be over saturated with green light making your picture look green, because the new gun will be alot brighter than the red and blue guns.
With that said, repair will cost approx.$400+, I've heard up to$600. Good luck !

My 6 year old 65xwx20b tv convergence problem

Good Day,

This is a common problem with this TV, but there is an upgrade to correct the CONVERVGENCE circuit problem.
If you want to repair this concern yourself: Contact: B&D ENTERPRISES,
1-800-458-6053, www.bdent.com and ask for KIT10 for your Hitachi TV.
If you want some else to do the repair for you call an Authorized Service Center.

What is a red crt?

There are three 'picture tubes' (CRTs) used in that kind of set rather than one with three colors as with the older TVs; red, blue and green. They operate at very high levels of light emissions in order to illuminate the large screen of the rear-projection set.

Red color not lined up

You can try making adjustments to the convergence in the user menu. If they still will not line up you will need to have the convergence ICs replaces along with a few resistors in the convergence circuit. Fairly common in many rear projection TVs.

Double image/ out of focus with green and blue seperation

Your tv is crt-based and is out of convergence. In other words, the settings for keeping the Red, Green and Blue images aligned have drifted and must be reset. This is common with CRT projectors and CRT rear projection tvs.

Refer to your owners manual for instructions on re-aligning it.

Red green and blue lines

Most projection TVs have an option to refocus. For example, my Sony rear projection TV has a button on the front for focusing the lamps. Try finding this button or option in the menus with your remote. Projection TVs actually use three lamps, one red, one green and one blue. These need to line up exactly in order to form a good picture, and when they come out of focus, you see the edges which sometimes has the effect of a 3D image when you aren't wearing 3D glasses. Hope this helps!
