What is the screw or nob in the middle of the intex 530 gallon pump lid for.

That is an air release valve screw. After you fill you rpool with water - open this screw until water comes out then tighten until sealed firmly. Turn pump on.

This allows the air to be released from the pump chamber "priming" the water flow.

I've been reading the blogs and have ascertained that the intex filter is too small to properly circulate pool water for optimum salt chlorination. i have a Krystal Clear system model CS8110 and would like...

You have about 8588 gallons of water in your pool ... One inch of water contains about 159 gallons in your pool. You should consider a 6 hour turn over rate. I recommend a high rate sand filter with at a minimum 1.5 sq feet of filter area. You need to move about 24 gallons a minute to achieve the 6 hour turn over rate.

Continue your research with these figures at hand.

You've gotta keep that annoying filter pretty darn clean to please the saltwater pump. I have to scrub my filters daily for this reason. What pump do you have? Mine is rated for 4000gph but I see Intex even offers support for pumps with as little as 500gph.

Go to Lowes . They sell a powder chlorine for above ground pools. I mix it up in a five gallon bucket with about two gallons of water and then just toss it into the pool with filter running. I do this every week or two and my pool stays nice and clear

How do you set the panel on a salt water intex pump mdl no.8110 and how much salt do use

to set the system, hold the down button until it beeps, then hold the up button until it beeps. Now the system is ready to set. Push the up button to the desired number of hours you want it to run. Now, hold the down button until it beeps, then the up button until it beeps. It should be locked and ready to start working.

Without knowing how large your pool is, I can't give you an exact amount of salt to use. If you know how many gallons your pool holds the formula is Gallons x 0.025 = pounds of salt to start up. When you need to add salt, its gallons x 0.0067 = pounds of salt to add when needed.
