Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

1 Answer

I bought a Samsung sc-dc164 mini DVD recorder. After taking video on the mini DVD's, I can watch them on my computer but I can not transfer the video from the DVD to the computer. I have a USB cable that came with the camcorder but when I plug it in I am prompted to install the drivers for the camcorder. I do not have drivers for it and I have not been able to find them online either. I have MS Windows Vista operating system on my computer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded the drivers and everything appeared to be installed correctly and when I plugged in my camcorder with the provided USB cable the computer made the noise acknowleding the new hardware was found. There was also a message that the new device drivers were installed but I am unable to find the device on the computer to be able to download the video. If there is something I am doing wrong I would appreciate some additional advice. I was under the impression that it should be plug and play.

You first must be on the following mode above, plus you need Directx 9.0 installed, check to see that you have this set

After downloading the drivers, did you then install them too?

download the drivers again and put them in a location that you can find. Make sure you then run the setup utility and place that in a spot that you can find

How can I record home VHS videos to a DVD on my Samsung DVD-VR320 DVD Recorder/VCR?

BE CERTAIN OF THE KIND OF DVD DISKS IT SUPPORTS. My experience is that the kind of discs while you would think would not make a difference actually do make a big difference depending on the equipment you are using. I just transferred 15 vhs tapes to DVD and realized that the machine only took a few formats luckily it was the one I was using, but not all formats may be compatible. There is a difference between DVD+R and DVD-R as an example.

How to transfer Panasonic DMR-E80H recorded DVDs to computer

I have to agree with XELIAM regarding finishing the disk, under the DVD "FUNCTIONS" selection from the remote. I also use the SLYSOFT products to transfer my videos to what ever other mode of video I wish to have, whether iPOD (MP4), or DIVX (AVI) or loads of other options. Slysoft makes a GREAT product

With the new HD transfer. We just have atenna...we just bought a HD TV. Is there a way of connecting the DVD Recorder so I can watch one channel and tape another with this new system

A lot of your question depends on your DVD recorder, but there IS a way to connect them so you can watch one channel and record another one.

First - if you have an HD compatible DVD recorder (one that will allow you to select channel 8, 8.1, 8.2, etc) then you could simply split your antenna signal BEFORE the TV or DVD recorder. Then you can select one channel to watch on your TV while selecting and recording a different channel on the DVD recorder. If your DVD recorder is connected to your TV's Video Input, you should be able to monitor DVD recorder's activity by selecting the "Video Input" on your TV.

If you DON'T have an HD DVD recorder, then you will need to get a converter box to put between the Antenna signal and the DVD recorder. You can then set the converter box to the channel you want and the DVD recorder can be set to record it.

Trying to record tape to dvd

After recording a DVD in a DVD recorder you will need to finalize the disk. You should be able to put it in the original recorder and at least be able to watch the video.
If you are able to watch the video while you are recording then you should be able to record what you are watching. If you cannot see the video when it is sourced through the DVD recorder, then you need to adjust the input.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Toshiba d-vr600 record without viewing the whole tape

Unless both units has stated high speed transfer capabilities I think you have to do them one at a time and watch the entire video.
There are some units that are one unit for vhs to dvd. Panasonic is known to have some units but you are going to probably have to hunt for one. It will clearly state that it transferred compressed or highspeed.

Samsung dvd vr357 Can not watch copied dvd on other dvd players

I know with the Go-Video, the DVD disc has to be 'finalized' before it's compatible with other DVD players/computers.

Check your 'set-up' menus while that disc is inserted into your Samsung DVD machine and see about pushing the 'up' arrow, if you have one, to see the contents of the DVD disc...then see if you can toggle to the right to see options for that disc, for instance, the title of it. You might see the 'finalize' option there.

DVD - Video Finalization rejection

1. The message can appear if the disc has already been finalised.

2. The disc may be faulty.

3. Try copying again from HDD to another disc. Performing a copy and finalise together by using 'DVD Video Creation' from the Edit menu can be more successful than doing each step separately.

4. When you transferred from your video camera, did you use firewire? If so, did you record at the maximum (default) bitrate of 14+ ? If so, you must copy (rate conversion) to the DVD at a maximum bitrate of 9.2, which is the maximum for the DVD playback standard.

Playing DIVX on an LG LH-RH3690 DVD recorder

You can not view from the USB, since the USB port on the DVD player is ver 1.1. The transfer speed is to slow to watch a movie. Alternatively you can copy your movie from your flashdrive to the harddrive and watch from there. You will see what I mean with slow speed when you copy the movie. It takes ages.

Copying vhs to dvd using samsung vr357 ??

I do not think you would have to worry about a way to disable the copy protection that is on the vhs tapes. you are not going to record over them. You are just going to transfer information to the dvd side. jh
