1 long beep followed by two short beeps is usually indicative of a failed/failing display adapter. On something as.... rustic as your dv2000 it can be fixed.... but probably would see better value from just replacing the unit.
the problem occord when the battary charge full somtimes... try to switch on the laptop with battary power (if u getting the beep its k) wait for 10min and swith off the lap n turn it on.. this may work some laptops... when the battary get 100% charge the error beep will *** up... try 2 turn on the lap above 80%....
You cant. Unless you create them yourself. HP will only allow back up disks to be created once. HP sucks. Sorry. You may try Best Buy's Geeksquad..they may have ones that they have backed up.

hi,
i m in Hong Kong. The stupid HP repair center charged US 90 just for inspection!!!!! They they said the whole motherboard had to be replaced, thts additional US 630 dollars, the thing is just 1.5 yr old. They also said i don get to keep the broken mother board after replacement. This is simply irresponsible, unethical, sleazy and UNJUST!!
Thanks. right now the computer is fixed for US70. when i hv time, i'll open it up and see if i can figure it out how it was fixed. The shop suggested tht the computer wont last too long. This is such bad quality for HP... Sorry, i hv to do the following for other victims to find this easily:
(can some creative netizen bring this to the public light to pressure HP to do the ethical things??)

That beeps indicated that there is a problem in the video Graphics adapter and in the memory.
try remove and clean the memory and then fix it back, im sure that would resolve your problems. however if this not solve then your should replace the memory.
If affraid to do so, then maybe let the repairman do it for you.
your system may have some problem. Try removing the memory module (RAM)
and switch on the system. If you here a beep sound your
motherboard.processor is OK.
Then put your RAM module back and switch on your system. This should make some difference.
you need to change the setting in your power manager, as your laptop is trying to conserve power, you can change the settings, however you may affect your battery life.
tarty,
how many beeps does it performs??and what can u notice??for example, does ur pc boots up??does it function well??
