I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I believe the part you are taking about is the fan and the fans generally are installed by a reverse thread and screws off counter clock wise. Once you removed the fan or the wheel you can use a blower and blow the motor clean, remove the carbon brushes and use a pipe cleaner to clean out the carbon brush holders and then re-install. Also free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages under vacuums.

How do you take apart electrolux canister vacuum #2100?

ok, you need to bypass the auto shut of. Put the vac on it's side and pull off the sliders on both sides.Carefully pull machine apart.lift the front of the piece that hold you bag.Underneathe there is a clear tube plugged in to a round thing on switch area.Simply pull the tube out of the rouind trhing. This will allow you to fillthe bag without shut dow.Just make sure your bag doesn't get too full....Chris

I turn it on and nothing happens,

I would double-check the seating of the bag. Some machines have a lockout switch that keeps you from running the vac with a bag incorrectly installed (which would then suck dirt into the motor).

My dyson dc11 has just stopped after sucking space saver bags

Hi Philip,

Your DC11 is equipped with a safety device which shuts the cleaner down if it starts to overheat. It's likely that this is what occurred, as there may not have been enough airflow through the cleaner to keep the motor cool. If you unplug the cleaner and leave it to cool down for at least an hour, you should find it will work again.

If the cleaner still won't run after this time, get in touch with us directly so we can provide further assistance - you can call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened...

Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
This is where a vacuum that won't run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one)

Electrolux vacuum cleaner 1500W motor diagram neededbecause it is not sucking enough

if motor is turning than it's not the motor......check for other more than likely faults such as.......restricted or kinked hoses......obstructed hoses,......clogged vents both intake and output sides.......clogged heppa filters on the output side...after the motor if it has one......restricted or obstructed intake air vents where the motor sucks air in........clogged bags if it uses bags.....in any case, you have something either blocking or restricting the suction side or something restricting the air output side.........if all is well and you see no blockages, then and only then should you suspect the motor.

Sebo Automatic X1 vacuum cleaner doesn't produce much suction.

If the motor really is working, the problem is most likely to be that there's a blockage somewhere, and on this excellent vacuum cleaner there aren't too many places to look. You've probably already looked in the inspection flap on the underside. If not, that's the first place to look. Next is to separate the bag compartment from the base of the machine (press and hold the button at bottom front of bag compartment and just pull the two sections apart - if this hasn't been done for some time, a gentle levering with something like the plastic handle of a dish brush can help). Then look down the rearmost vacuum tube to check that it's clear, also make sure the little sieve on the other tube is clear. That's all for the base section. Now open the bag compartment, remove the bag and check that tube all the way through the hose.
Another possibility is air leakage, and it does happen on older machines that the plastic tube onto which the attachments fit becomes so worn that it no longer seals properly in the hole in the base (where it lives for normal floor vacuuming).  You could also have split in the flexible hose, of course.

If none of this reveals a problem, the motor probably isn't as healthy as you think it is.
I hope this helps. Any questions, just post again and I'll see what more I can do.  I value your feedback, so please rate this response.

The store you bought your vac from should have bags for it. Alot of stores and Sew and Vac stores carry a large variety of bags, you will have to shop or call around. A repair shop should be able to order them if need be. You should change bags when they are maybe 3/4 full. The fuller they get, the suction will decrease and make the motor have to work too hard. Also check your filters, change them if they look bad.
