open the doors and feel the middle strip.if that's hot check the condenser fan to make sure it's running and clean out the coil in the back.pull out the machine, remove the bottom panel,on the right side you'll see the coil, with a shop vac vac off the coil and then put it on blow and blow out the coil, that's the only way to clean this kind of coil and make sure the fan is blowing back there.let me know what you find, also send the full model number, open the fridge door, look at the right wall near the ceiling and you should see the model number.

Frost on back of freezer, not cooling right in both boxes

You probably have a defrost heater, timer, or temperature switch failure. The heater is the most common problem. What happens is frost has clogged the cooling coils and very little cold air is being circulated through it to do the cooling. Clean out the freezer and remove the back panel to thaw out with a hair drier or wet vac blower etc. Now find the cause.

Maytag Model RSW24EOD. Not cooling. Frost on freezer back wall

Low on freon or there may be accumulation of dust and dirt on the coils of the condensor. To check to see if the coils are dirty you need to remove the bottom panel of the fridge just below the frige door. Once you pop off this panel take a flashlight and look under the unit. You will see what looks like a radiator with a fan and fan motor in front of it. If these coils are blocked the unit will not cool since this is where the heat goes from the fridge to be dispersed. Clean the coils with a coil brush (purchased at any hardware store) and use a wet/dry vacuum to remove the debris. Once these coils are cleaned it will take about 12 hours for the unit to operate properly.
If the coils are clean already then you possibly have a compressor that is low on freon. I would check the coils first since most of the time this is the cause of the problem.

Good luck on your repair hope this helped you some

Artica Profile side by side freezer will not cool below 2 degrees

Remove the rear panel at the bottom of refrig which covers the compressor and coils . The coils should be cleaned about every 4-6 months . Place a length of 2x4 laid flat behind the fridge , to push the fridge against , as this also gives enough room for air circulation .

Hi: It's a sealed system so if you need a recharge it will be expensive. You mentioned that the "air filter" in the back was clean. Do you mean the panel at the bottom of the back of the refrigerator? The coils are on the bottom (parallel to the floor across the bottom) and have to be clean. If you haven't done this; remove the grill and vacuum the coils. It's best to use a coil brush to get to the very back. A refrigerator coil brush is available at Lowes or Home Depot. I use an air compressor to blow them out. Then I have to dust the house. If the coils haven't been cleaned this will cause what you described. I hope this helps, Jeff

I have a side by side and the fridge part is not cooling enough.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Sears has a complete model number system that is confusing I know. Sears made it that way. Not sure why but look around the cold food door while open and look near bottom on the frame just above the kick plate. The number looks like this, (model No. 253.64802400 for example) Find that number and we can go from there, Thanks, Sea Breeze
