Check that the paper path is clear. Check that the paper is dry. Check that the paper pick ups and rollers are clear of any debris - Power off the machine at the mains and brush them with a damp cloth or brush and maybe vacuum out the entire area to remove all dust etc. Make sure that you fan out the paper before inserting it into the tray and that the tray is not over full as this will prevent the paper being collected successfully. Try running with half a tray full instead of a full or near empty tray. This should resolve your problem.
Hi Thanks for using FixYa. Paper jam is a very common problem with the printers.
First of all clean off the rubber piece that pulls the paper into the printer from the tray with rubbing alcohol, and also take a knife to the rubber piece to rough it up to create more traction.
To clear the paper jam problem you need to remove the back roller mechanism to get at paper. If still the problem persists, then check the following to resolve the issue--
1.Please check all interlocks, electrical and signal connections are seated properly. 2.Front cover, back cover and lid are closed properly. 3.Power plug and USB cable are connected. 4.Printer is turned on with switch on the back. 5.Toner signal lights sequenced, with yellow overall led on. 6.There is some noise of paper roller movement. 7.Toner signal lights all out, overall status light turned to red 8.No visible paper in paper tray or anywhere else. 9.No paper in tray---added paper 10.Waste toner container is full or not installed ---empty, installed properly.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
If you did not get ALL the jammed sheet out, there is still a small piece of paper in there somewhere, probably covering a sensor or micro switch. Get a torch and look carefully. If you don't find anything you may need to disassemble the printer to find it.
Click on the 'feed switch' on the front control panel- it might be feeding from the invisible drawer underneath and it might be empty. There is a light which will indicate which source it is feeding from.
i would try clening the paper feed tires and roller and if that dose not work i woudl replace them.also pull the paper tray out adn look in top of the printer where the paper feeds out of the tray to see if the is a peice paper is blocking the sensor that reads that the printer has paper.
