Question about Hawking HWREG1 Repeater
Hi, Im running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, and I just bought the product HW2R1. Im using an Wireless (g) receiver from my router that's in the other room. So currently, I plugged the Wireless-N Dual Smart Repeater and in my available networks, it wasn't there.
Also, I downloaded the support utility for this product, but when it locates the Repeater and I click connect it gives me "Repeater Respon Timeout".
Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Connect the home wireless network router box to the main PC through an ethernet cable with the PC powered off and the home wireless router powered off, then power on the PC & the router. Vista should locate the new wireless network and follow the windows vista network setup procedures. After the wireless network has been detected you then while the second PC's power is shut off you connect dongle adapter to the PC power on and XP will locate the new adapter. You will probably have to enter your networks pin for the connection.

SOURCE: HW2R1 repeater is providing an
Is it the repeater or the modem or router.
If you bypass the repeater does it still do it? If not then you might have to "Hard" re-set it. Check your manual on how to do it. It usually involves putting in a paper clip and/or pressing a button but each one is different. You WILL have to re-enter everything again but it's set back to the Default configuration.
If you bypass the repeater and it still happens then it's either the DSL/Cable modem or the Router. Just turn them off or unplug them for 30 seconds or so and then plug the modem in first wait until it's done then the router. Unplugging them or turning them off is considered a "Soft" re-set and just clears the temporary memory and doesn't erase anything else so no reconfiguring.
If after all that maybe it's going bad? Contact the Manufacturer and ask for more answers? They will probably ask for the Version and firmware number to know which exact model you are talking about.
