Hi have a Heatline vizo 24. It stopped working on saturday with no hot water or heating. I had British Gas come out under their insurance policy only to be told that they won't cover it. But thw bloke said i need a new fan or circut board. I had another plummer out today and he said it could be the pcb? Whats this? He told me to get Heatline out to have a look so I've booked them for £250 for tomorrow. They said it won't be covered if it's the expansion tank or any installation problems.

Boilers are inherently dangerous for the average DIY for so many reasons, contact British Gas and have them come back and fix it, tell them it was fine before the "service". They may simply have a control valve shut off.
There is a pressure adjustment on the gas valve...make sure you set it with a manometer. If the water is just condensate, its ok except if you don't have enough combustion air for the btu rating of the water heater. If it is a leak, replace the water heater
Hello, So you had water enter the burner combustion chamber through the access panel. That can be cleaned out, but was the gas control valve just above it on the water heater submerged under water as well? If so, do not use it or try to repair it. It is unsafe to use and the control must be replaced. Now whether or not it's worth while to replace just the gas control, depends on the age and condition of the water heater itself. Also, is this covered under your home owner's insurance policy? Damage from flooding is usually not covered in a standard policy, unless you had it added specifically. But it is covered if you had a water line break which resulted in the water damage. You should find out before you proceed with changing the control. We had the latter occur and our insurance co (State Farm) covered everything from clean-up to replacement). Hope that helps. Douglas
there are two main faults with combi boilers not giving hot water. one is a faulty flow sensor, the other is the most common which is a blocked heat exchanger caused by debris and scale in the system. this needs to be flushed out or may require a new heat exchanger depending on the age and condition of the boiler some plumbers may suggest a new boiler.
Is your boiler heating your domestic hot water if so i would turn water off to water maker and see if your boiler pressure stays down below 20 psi. If so water maker is bad. The other thing that could cause this problem would be the boiler pump is out.
