Question about Home

I have a Hampton Bay 300W power supply for outdoor landscape.

I have a 300W power supply for outdoor landscape. #590-313. The lights are not working. However, unit does power up as evident by red light. It could have gone bad after mild thunderstorm. There's a wire with a light on that does not light. I read online there may be a bad fuse. I do not see where a fuse could be unless it's the light bulb. Any ideas?

"The wire with a light" is a not light bulb. That is your photocell. At dark will turn your system on if you select thta feature.

I have tha same power supply. In my case "check circuit" light is on. I need a manual so I can troubleshoot. Any Ideas?

Thanks for the response. The problem was where all the wires connect to the transformer wires, which was under ground. Apparently one had shorted out. Taped everything back together nicely and all is well.

Sun burns out the photocell in lights. Hampton Bay uses cheap components in their Fans and Lighting all made in China for a fraction of what you paid. Dont waste time calling gpwarranty.com they dont care.
Best option..buy a good set and dont buy them from Home Depot, Hampton Bays primary retailer, sort of voting with your wallet.

the Hampton Bay 300W transformer requires that at least a 20 watt load for it to function. If you only have one bulb, say a 10 or 15 watt to test it, it wont work - sounds crazy, I know.

If you have an installation brochure it's under "Important Safety Feature". The first sentence reads "In order for this Transformer to operate, a minimum load of 20 watts MUST be installed before plugging the Transformer into the electrical outlet.

Hope that's it - by the way, these transformers can emit a high pitch when running - not sure why, but it's a common complaint.
