Hi! I have Sony cyber-shot w180. When I insert my battery the camera switches off in a sec. And on the screen there I can see a crossed battery sign. What can it be?

My recommendation is to go the cheapest route first. Replace the battery. If it's a lithium battery, and has a little age on it, chances are it's no longer holding a charge. If that doesn't resolve the problem then send the camera in for servicing. My guess is that the battery went south on you.

I want a solution for my damaged camera Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W180 Digital Camera?

Try these procedures: http://www.fixya.com/support/r13011856-lens_error

Please bear in mind the possibility that the camera is damaged beyond economical repair. If that is the case then it will be less expensive to replace it than to repair it.

My cam overheats after 10 secs.

Hi,

Please make sure that the battery which you're using in the Camera is compatible. The compatible battery pack and the supplied one is NPBK1. If you're using the supplied battery, then make sure that the terminals of the battery are clean. You can use a soft dry cloth to clean the terminals of the battery.
A normal heat will generate in the Camera while operating which is a normal operation. If the heat is high, then I suggest you to get in touch with a Sony Authorized Service center to resolve the issue.

Thanks for using FixYa!
