Question about Frigidaire FWTR445R

1 Answer

Our Frigidaire Front load washer FWTR445RF50, washes fine. But the water does not drain out after the wash and the spin cycle does not work. At the spin cycle, the washer acts like the door is not fully closed (as shown by a buzzing noise). All wash cycles work, but none of the spin cycles do. Pls. advise

It won't spin unless the water is drained out.a bad door switch could cause this and is the easiest part to change, and if it's buzzing and it's coming from the switch i'd say you have a bad door switch, also on these machines they had problems with the door hinge the door would sag down and when you go to close it it would hit the bottom of the switch instead of the strike going in the middle of the switch and crack or break the switch,if you think your door is doing this, replace the door switch and when you go to close the door lift up on it when closing so it closes better.one more thing it's not draining so if the door switch doesn't totally fix it check the drain pump and the hose that goes from the tub to pump,it might have a coin catch in it that can get clogged stopping the pump from draining or a bad pump but i would change out the door switch first it could fix your problem before you start getting into the pump, much easier to replace and i've changed a few door switches on these washers, good luck.the door switch part number is 131763256.go here put your model number in go to where it says wash cab,top look at part number 8 this is your door lock,it gives a different number but for some reason sears hasn't updated the site with the newest numbers but the number i gave you is the newest number for the part

SOURCE: frigidaire front washer has power but won't fill up, drain or go through correct cycles

You'll very likely have something caught in your drain pump. First set the washer to drain and spin. If you hear a hum or grinding noise and the water in the tub isn't draining or it's draining slowly you have something in the pump. If you take the rear panel off you'll reveal the drain pump at the right front corner or maybe middle on this model. if you empty all the water from your machine you can take off the spring clamp (this can be tricky) attaching the thick rubber hose from your tub to your drain pump. (you may want to have some old towels ready) With this off you can feel around for what's blocking the drain pump's impeller. You may want to take the screws out that secure the drain pump to the base and the other spring clamp that attaches the drain hose to the drain pump. Good luck!

SOURCE: I have a frigidaire affinity front loader washer

There is an auxiliary switch in the door lock and switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. This is a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during the spin cycle and the machine will not spin unless the switch is activated. The machine works except advancing to the spin cycle and this signifies that the auxiliary switch cannot be activated and the door lock and switch assembly is faulty. Replaced the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the issue.

Disconnect power to the machine. Open the washer door then look for the retaining hoop securing the door seal around the lip of the door opening. Stretch the retainer spring of the door seal retaining hoop then remove it.

Carefully peel off part of the door seal from the lip of the door opening near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove enough of the door seal to gain access to the door lock and switch assembly.

Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel. Once the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it away from the front panel.

Take the door lock and switch assembly out of the machine. Disconnect the electrical connections then connect it to the new door lock and switch assembly.

Put the new door lock and switch assembly back into position in the front panel and secure it with the securing screws.

Properly put the eased part of the door seal back over the lip of the door opening then secure it with the retaining hoop.

Frigidaire front loading washing machine works fine in regular wash but won't spin out enough in perma press cycle.

I appreciate your post, Kathy Saalfeld!

From my understanding on permanent press your Frigidaire washer will not spin out enough water. This could be a possible issue with your control panel or sensor within the inside of your washer. You may want to review your drain tube to assure that it is not restricted or kinked. This could be a possible problem with your drain pump or timer. You may need to consult with a professional technician for a proper diagnosis and repair to be performed on your washer. Good luck. -Matt
