Question about Symbol MC9090 Mobile Computer Portable Terminal
Hello, we are using in our warehouse area together with extreme networks APs motorola mc9090, mc3000 and wt4090 scanner. All scanners use TKIP encrpytion. But just mc9090 scanners have the problem to keep the connection solid. They lost their connection and the user must re-log to the network. The other two mentioned scanners are running without any problems. Any idea?

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You have to use a program which will activate the scanner.
You can use DataWedge, which will send the scanner input to whatever has focus: https://docs.symbol.com/KanisaPlatform/Publishing/968/KB100417_f.html

It can read all standard symbologies apart from PDF symbologies unless it is equipped with an imager scan engine.

Make sure that the ESS ID and security features match the ones on the AP.
Also, from the MC9090, you will need to click on the radio icon, select options and in the top drop down menu, choose regulatory. select the country where you are and uncheck the box named enable 802.11d.
This should have the terminal connected on to the network.

A - From the Windows Mobile user interface:
1. Tap Start (the Windows Logo), then Settings.
2. Tap the System tab.
3. Tap the Power icon.
4. Tap the Advanced tab.
You can change the number of minutes before power is turned off when on battery and when on external power from there. You can also uncheck the "Turn off device if not used for" check box to disable the timeout entirely.
B - From the registry (useful for deploying the setting as a .reg file to the device, in case you have many MC9090 guns you are supporting or you are wanting to set it to a value the user interface does not support):
The above values are in hex and represent the number of seconds before timing out when on battery or AC power. For example, to set the BattSuspendTimeout to 180 seconds, you would set it to dword:000000B4. To disable it entirely (the equivalent of unchecking the checkbox in the user interface), set the value to 0.

Warm boot the MC55 if that doesn't help then cold boot it, if that doesn't help then reload the Operating system, if that doesn't fix it then send it back to Motorola for a warranty repair.
