Normally you loosen the bolts to the motor after fitting the belt around the drum. DON'T try to streach the belt to fit over the motor pullery.

Sounds like the heating element has broke. If it spins and doesnt produce heat its best to call someone out, or buy a new one. If nothing works, check fuses and connections

I think you may have a bad relay on the motor, where power is re-applied after the push start is released

Hi, It sounds like it might need new brushes in the motor. Sometimes just before they wear down completely, they will wash but not spin, this is because the spin needs more power. Tom.
