Hi there i noticed your problem and had similar one with my digital camera recently. It could just be a simple thing such as batteries / memory card is in wrong way or camera is too full try delete some pics or save them on ur pc. wipe them off ur camera. take out memory card and Charge it for a whole day, put back in memory card and batteries, make sure its in right way. Try that an see if it works. ps some memory cards have a little lock thingy on the side that might have slided down into lock mode. check that ur m.c is not locked.
Look at the memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
need more info but usually ir means the memory is full . or the memory card is corrupt. i suggest saving all the pics to your computer then try reformatting the memory card. you can usually do this from the camera itself. you will have to go thru the cameras menu and pick delete all pics and format card.
also check what pixel setting you are using. the higer the pixel setting the lass pics the memory will hold.
however lowering the pixel rating also reduce the quality of the pictures. hope this helps .
If the camera has an internal memory and that is where the pics are being saved to i need the model number. But in the mean time if you are using an sd card try pulling out the card. Some cards have a slide on them that locks the card so you cant write over pic. What happens is some times handling the cards and inserting them the slide accidentally gets moved. this link is to a picture of the lock.
hey! I've had the same problem, and all you have to do is go to the "format" menu of your camera and click on ok when it says that all data on memory stick will be erased. The message will then disappear. Only problem, if you havent saved your pics yet, you'll lose them.... :(
Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Same problem. My camera is 3 weeks old. I dropped it at a short distance onto a wooden floor and it immediately said my memory card was locked. I took the memory card out, it was not locked. I tried 4 different cards and they all say the same thing. If I take the memory card out, the camera runs fine on internal memory, but only holds about 8 pics. I've tried everything. Please help!!
