Need bios update for amd dual core 3.2 or phenom 9600

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=498#cpu

Only the cpu on the list, will fit the mainboard.

Others will be not be compatible with the mainboard, and a bios upgrade will not help with that.

Good luck

Could be lots of things. First check you power supply, then memory. See if any of the components are getting very hot (be careful not to burn yourself). From there it will be kinda hit and miss till you find what is wrong. May be easier to look for a compatible motherboard on ebay.

I've a Biostar M7VKD m/board and I want to increase its memory to 1GB. I has 128MB at the moment. I've looked up some details and the advice is to fit 128 or 256 not 512MB.

The maximum amount of memory you can use is 768MB (3 x 256MB). It's not possible to go any higher. The reason to that is because it's using SDRAM DIMM, and SDRAM generally goes up to 256MB. So, even if you wanted to, you probably can't find any 512MB of SDRAM.

Looking for compatible processor for biostar P4M800 M7A mainboard

    Hi there.
Your board is a socket 775, also called Socket T or LGA775, is a Land Grid Array (LGA) socket used for the most recent generations of desktop Intel microprocessors starting from Pentium 4 and up to Core 2 Quad / Core 2 Extreme families. The socket LGA775 supports Intel CPUs from 1.8 to 3.8 GHz with Front-Side Bus frequencies ranging from 533 MHz to 1600 MHz.
Its up to you which type of processor you get but now you have the general idea.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

    Mother board reset buttom?

I assume you have the fan of your power supply working indicating that power is OK.

Disconnect everything from the motherboard leaving only the processor, fan and power. If you don't hear any beep means that you have a problem with either the motherboard or the processor.

PS Verify compatibility of motherboard FSB and processor.
