Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have pulled the dryer apart at the back and discovered the fan is not working. Is it fixable or should we just buy a new one . It is a Simpson Sirocco 450 Dryer.

Replace simpson dryer element

Not real difficult. You will need to remove the back and the top for complete access. Disconnect power first, bathen carefully remove the wires from from the actual heating element. Then remove the coil and replace with new one. Inspect all wires and connections while it is all apart.good luck. Let me know how it went,.

How do i fix a duet dryer that takes too long to dry

I pulled apart the back of my dryer to access the heating element. I noticed I have a break in one of the coils. So, that means I need to buy a new one. The thing I noticed is that only of of the terminals at the bottom of the heating element has a plug on it. There are no additional wires inside the dryer that could have come off so I am a little confused as to if i new coil will work.
I watched a video online and it clear shows both terminals being connected. Anyone have any advice?

Fan in the Simpson Sirrocco 500 clothes dryer doesn't work.

It is both easy and cheap! I do believe there is a cover on the back of this model hiding the drive belt for the fan. It has iether broken or come off. If it has come off and lint or something of the like was not the cause it is quite possible that it has stretched and will require replacing =)

Yes - the vent exhausts humid air, and draws IN fresh dry air. So the humid air is staying trapped in your unit.

Simpson Sirocco 350 Dryer not heating

there is an oval cover on the back of the dryer. Remove this cover and you will probably find a broken fan belt. A replacement costs about $20 Aus.

NOTE: If you have been using the dryer for a while in this condition there will certainly be moisture inside the dryer. Replace the belt and leave the dryer for a few days to dry itself out (motor and electricals) before firing it up.
