Make like Michael Jackson and Beat it!

A bit of tiny grit can catch and stop the lens mechanism. Tapping the camera on the body or thumping it somewhat firmly & delicatelyonto a padded flat urface may help. Run a vacuum near the len and cycle it a few times after it works.
Beating these cameras is a strangely common technique.

Hello, everytime i turn on my camera it says lens error , restart camera. How do I fix that problem?

If you hear a crunching noise this means the gears are chewed up. Sometimes you can manually pull the lens out while powering on. Hope this helps.

My Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS says it has a lense error. It tells me to restart it so I do and it keeps telling me the same thing.

Your problem is your lens. Your lens could be blocked from getting out the right way when it starts up. Thats usually the case. And so if it comes out the way it should (or seems that way) The gearing in the lens is being faulty. I have the same series camera (Canon PowerShot SD780 IS) and thats what happened to me. Try calling a camera fixing company to see how much it would be to fix it because it seems like a bigger issue. Or if its still under warranty, file a claim and send it back.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, or if repair costs close to the value of the camera, they're worth a try.

SD1100 IS. Battery charged. Turn on power. no

sounds like the ribbon conector inside the phone that sends power and the signal to operate the lens has come loose. you could take it apart your self and just pop it back on with a pair of pin nose pliers or send it to a shop, however you will be looking at a bit fat bill if you do that.

Lens error, restart camera message

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

It has a lens error. Everytime the camera is turned on it beeps and clicks constantly. It eventually shuts off after displaying "Lens error, restart camera." on the screen.

Camera will not take clear photos

As you have noted the lens is the root cause of this noise problem. I really believe there is grit in the lens gear thats preventing it from zooming or re-tracing. As for the blurring this can happen due to shutter lag.. a notorious problem in some of the powershot models. Either ways your camera needs service by an authorized professional. I would not advise you to try and clean the lens gear yourself as it can very easily get messed up and it would significantly rise the cost of the repair.

Good luck
Sai.
