Question about LG GW525 Cell Phone

3 Answers

I currently have a Vodafone SIM but am switching networks. When I put the new SIM in, it doesn't work. I have been told I need to put a PUK code somewhere, but Vodafone isn't telling me anything on where to enter it and how to do so. How do I get rid of this stupid SIM?

    I talked to Vodafone, they say it is not their SIM that is the problem but the handset. Rang LG and they said I need to run through an update on their website which would also restart the phone back to factory settings. Computers here however are so old that the update crashed one computer and this computer here refuses to acknowledge that a phone is plugged in. Unplugged phone, restarted both phone and PC. Nothing. Am at a big loss on what to do now.
    I think the unlocking for this phone is different. I've had to unlock an Aussie phone before by going through the process of obtaining a special pin code that you enter when you insert the new sim. This is not the case here. Is there another way to do it?

    Yea, if it is locked then how do I unlock it? No message asking for a code comes up at all and everywhere I look, they don't seem to tell me actually where to put the code. I have the PUK, that's not an issue. The unlock cell phone page only really seems to work if this message pops up asking for the code, when it never does. The last site seemed promising, but lacked the unlock information for my phone model.

The Vodafone SIM card will only work on the Vodafone mobile network. If you want to use different mobile provider then you need to purchase a new SIM card from that mobile provider.
If you intend to use your old mobile phone that was connected to Vodafone, then if this mobile phone is locked to Vodafone, then the new SIM card from a different mobile provider will not work in the old mobile phone unless it has been unlocked to allow you to use any SIM card/mobile provider.
If you need to unlock this mobile, then please leave me a comment so I can provide you with further information.

    The PUK code is used to unlock the SIM card and and allow you to insert/change the password on the mobile phone. The PUK code is supplied with the SIM card and if forgotten, then Vodafone can provide the PUK code if they supplied the SIM card.

    I still think youe mobile phone is locked to the Vodafone mobile network.

    To get the security code to unlock the cell phone from the current cell phone provider so you can use it with a different phone provider, Please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

To get your PUK Code you should Call costumer care (Service Provider) And Ask Them For PUK Code They will give you the PUK Code.
You can not call From your Mobile so use the your friend or any relatives number which belongs to your service provider's network & call them & ask PUK Code they will give you.
or visit your network provider center for example if your using Vodafone Sim Then Visit Vodafone Stores (Vodafone Care) they will provide you the PUK Code.

Tip

Default Pin & Security Codes for SIM cards

A number of networks still use a default pin on their SIM cards at the point of dispatch as a security precaution. If you lose or forget the PIN code it can be irritating.

Please note these PIN's will only work if you have NOT changed the default PIN. If you enter the PIN code incorrectly three times, a lock will be put onto the SIM card, and you need a PUK code to unlock it.

You can obtain your PUK by contacting your network service provider.

Default Network PIN Codes:

O2 = 0000/4321

Orange = 1111

Vodafone = 0000

Fresh = 1210

Virgin Mobile = 7890 / 1210

Vodafone = 0000

Talkmobile = 0000

3 = 0000

My nokia phone model N95-1 need a PUK code to acces on my phone. I really dont know how to find that PUK code.

Please call the costumer care of your sim card network operator (service provider). They will give you the number, note that if you enter random numbers several times, it'll damage the sim card and will not be usable anymore, So i suggest you not to do anything with it till you get the number from the Service Provider. No one can unlock it, it's saved on the database of the Network Operator. They will give you the number and will instruct you how to do it. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa

My phone is blocked. It says "PUK innactivated.Card Blocked" Can you help me ?

hi, the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone, so the message your being told is that this sim card is now blocked this happens if the wrong PUK code has been entered more than 10 times.

All you need to do is get a new sim card for the network your phone is locked to or the same network as the sim card that is in the phone now, once you put this new sim card in you should be able to use your phone, if how ever it still asks for a PUK code then all you need to do is call the service provider for that sim card and ask them for the PUK code they will give you this code for free over the phone

so your phone is not locked its just the sim card, it could be locked if the sim card has been not used for 180 days as they get switched of after this long with no use, so putting a new sim card in your phone will solve your problem

I need apuk code for my vodafone sim

Default is always 12345678 then it asks you for new PIN. Enter 0000 and enter 0000 again to confirm but if it says incorrect PUK, please stop there and call vodafone customer care line using a different (friends maybe) phone and ask them for correct PUK. they will give it to you FREE.
Be carefull because putting in an invalid PUK code many times can make your simcard permanentlly unusable!!!

Samsung D900 spare phone no serv. provdr wants PUK code

The PUK is associated to SIM card, and not to the phone. Just put a new Orange SIM card on the D900.

If the D900 is locked to Orange and your friend want to use a different SIM on it, that that can instead be done at any local phone shop for a small fee.
