SOURCE: steer wheel assembly

Hello Kimkaye.
There are three bolts that have come loose and will need to be tightened.
Some special tools will be needed to disassemble in order to access these bolts.
I would recommend a professional to do this job for you as there are many parts and pieces to contend with in this job along with the supplemental restraint system (airbag).

How to remove an SIR coil on 97 Deville/Technical drawing of steering column?

The clock spring assembly was most likely damaged during removal/assembly of the repairs. This assembly controls the airbag/horn/steering wheel functions. It is not that hard to change if you have a steering wheel puller to get the steering wheel off. Here is an exploded diagram. Hope it helps. The very top of the diagram is the clock spring assembly and it will be the first thing you see when the steering wheel is removed

I need to know how to replace tumbler 1993 honda accord 5-speed

That is not the key part of the switch, it is the electruical switch the key cylinder operated.
Instructions
    • Set the front wheels to point forward and remove the key from the ignition.
    • 2Disconnect the black battery cable and then the red battery cable, in that order, using a wrench unfasten the two torx bolts securing the lower lid on the steering wheel using a ratchet and torx bit. Pull off the red shorting connector from the underside of the lid and put the lid aside.
  • 4Reach through the steering cover opening, unplug the air-bag electrical connector and insert the red shorting connector to the air bag side of the unplugged connector.
  • 5Unfasten the three glove-box mounting screws and put the glove box aside using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • 6Unplug the passenger air-bag electrical connector and insert the red shorting connector located next to the connector into the air-bag side of the unplugged connector.
  • 7Pry off the small cover behind and on each side of the steering wheel using a small flat-head screwdriver.
  • 8Unfasten the torx bolts under the small covers using a ratchet and a T30 torx bit and remove the bag assembly from the steering wheel. Place the bag in a safe place away from your working area with the cover facing up.
  • 9Unplug the horn connector located on the upper side of the steering wheel assembly and the cruise control switch located off center and towards the right of the steering wheel assembly.
  • 10Make alignment marks on the steering column shaft, at the center of the steering wheel, and the steering wheel assembly so that you can reinstall the steering wheel in the same exact position. Use a marker.
  • 11Unfasten the steering-wheel retaining nut on the center of the assembly using a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket. Hold the steering wheel steady with one hand as you remove the retaining nut.
  • 12Rock the steering wheel carefully from side to side as you pull the wheel off the center shaft. If the steering wheel is stuck, install a steering wheel puller on the assembly and detach the wheel from the shaft.
  • 13Remove the upper and lower steering column covers using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • 14Unplug the ignition switch connector.
  • 15Insert the key into the lock cylinder and turn the key to the "On" position.
  • 16Unfasten the two ignition-switch mounting bolts from the steering column using a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket. Then remove the switch from the steering column

On my altima 96 when I'm parking or turning extremely slow the steering wheel somewhat locks

Hi, can you tell if it's the lock in the steering column or something with the power steering instead? If it feels like the power steering, check the belt for looseness and tighten as needed. If it feels like it's in the column, your locking assembly may be coming loose inside. Below is a procedure for removing the steering wheel lock for inspection. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION The steering lock/ignition switch/warning buzzer switch assembly is attached to the steering column by special bolts whose heads shear off upon installation. The bolts must be drilled out to remove the assembly or be removed with an appropriate tool. The bolts may also be removed with a hammer and chisel by notching the bolts and tapping them counterclockwise with the hammer and chisel.
The ignition switch or warning switch can be replaced without removing the steering lock assembly. The ignition switch is on the back of the assembly and the warning switch is on the side.

CAUTION The models covered by this guide may be equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which uses an air bag. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, the air bag module, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS, as described in Chassis Electrical .

    1. Disable the air bag system by disconnecting the negative battery cable and waiting at least 10 minutes, prior to starting this procedure.
    2. Remove the steering column covers.
    3. Remove the steering wheel.
    4. Remove the spiral cable assembly.
    5. Remove the combination switch from the steering column.
    6. Remove the steering column support nuts and lower the steering column.
    7. Disconnect the ignition switch wiring.
    8. Remove the bolts that secure the steering lock and remove the steering lock assembly.

    To install:
    1. Install the steering lock assembly and secure with new shear type bolts.
    2. Connect the ignition switch wiring harness.
    3. Raise the steering column and secure with mounting nuts. Tighten the mounting nuts to 11-14 ft. lbs. (15-19 Nm).
    4. Install the spiral cable assembly.
    5. Install the combination switch.
    6. Install the steering column covers.
    7. Install the steering wheel.
    8. Connect the negative battery cable.

94 Ford Ranger, ignition assembly loose. Will not start unless I jimmy the assembly in towards the steering column. Require removal of steering wheel to fix?

Thats ok mam,i,m 62,retired with 19 yrs experience in automotive field.Ford cars and trucks. And several different importsBut i quit in 1996.
I,m thinking that the, gears may be out of timing and the actuating rod that moves the ignition switch contacts at or near the bottom of the steering colmn.
You should repair the key cylinder, and the tumbler that the key actuates. Then you may also need to adjust the switch assy contact box at the bottom. These are a high wear items over a lot of yrs, and useage, and might be best to pay one time, and fix it right.I used to repair tilt steering wheels, and found that its less costly just to buy a good used steering column with key and all,but now days i,m not so sure! ??? hope i was helpful!
Good luck on this problem,as i know costs are high every where.

1997 GMC Sierra the steering wheel is locked

If you remove the air bag you must disconnect the battery first and wait 5 miunts to work on it. if the tumbler is damaged you will need to remove the horn button then the or the air bag then remove 3 screws that hold the horn assembly then remove the steering wheel nut then you will have to rent a steering wheel puller pull the steering wheel off then you can get to the tumbeler assembly, one there remove one screw that holds key lock assembly in place then with a flat tip screw driver see if you can turn the slot in the stering wheel, if you can turn it then there is a problem with the tumbler assembly and you can by one at any auto parts store with 2 keys for about $15.00 if it still will not turn then the two nuts that hold the steering whel on will have to be dropped then the steering wheel will have to be lowerered and the clip for the gear shift string has to be removed then drop the steering wheel down and look at the rod tthat operates the key switch. Is the rod bent? straighten it and try turning it again, does it turn? if yes you found the problem if not you can luberacate the switch on the steering wheel and see if you can get it to free up once it does put it back together like you took it apart, if it won't turn you will have to replace the strat switch on the steering cloumbe. if you need help just reply to this answer and I will get back to you thanks for using fix-ya.

Wheel hub assembly front 1997 sebring

    1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
    2. Remove the front tire and wheel.
    3. Remove the steering knuckle assembly, as described previously.
    4. Remove the bolts attaching the hub/bearing assembly to the steering knuckle.
    5. Remove the hub/bearing assembly from the front of the steering knuckle. The bolt-in front wheel bearing used on the vehicle is transferable to a replacement steering knuckle, if the bearing is in serviceable condition. If the bearing will not come out of the steering knuckle, it can be tapped out using a soft-faced hammer.
    6. a567c9e.jpg

    1. Thoroughly clean all parts, including the hub/bearing assembly mounting surfaces on the steering knuckle.
    2. Install the replacement hub/bearing assembly onto the steering knuckle, aligning the bolt holes of the bearing flange to the knuckle.
    3. Install the attaching bolts and tighten evenly to make sure the bearing is square to the face of the steering knuckle. Tighten the attaching bolts to 80 ft. lbs. (110 Nm) on Cirrus, Stratus, Sebring convertible and Breeze, or 65 ft. lbs. (88 Nm) on Sebring coupe and Avenger.
    4. Install the steering knuckle assembly, as previously described.
    5. Install the tire and wheel.
    6. Lower the vehicle and check for proper operation.
