Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Creative Zen Xi-Fi MP3 player 30 GM, about 18 mnths old. It is stuck in shutting down mode and the computer won't recognize the USB link. So I can't even do recovery mode. What can I do? I can't find a repair place for this model on the Internet.

Your Mp3 Player needs a firmware upgrade . But you are correct for all these you need to access the player via your computer. But since the USB port is not accessible I would recomend you first select the model from the bellow link and then contact Creative so that they can suggest the nearest workshop where you can go and get it checked for any hardware problem.

Let us know if you have something more to know else accept the suggestion.
Thank You for contacting

Actually, my software was up to date. It turned out I just needed to put a pin in the restart hole.

Computer doesn't recognize Creative Zen Mozaic

may not be a data cable. might only be a charging cable. Try different cables since that cable(if original ) is over 8 years old and possibly bad now.

Creative Zen V Won't Charge, Won't be Recognized, Etc.

Hey; I just had the same problem with my player; I uninstalled Windows media player 11 (brought it back to ten). Then I formatted my player, (You do this by unplugging it from the computer, then you turn off the player, and then you press the play button while also powering your player on, once you see the creative labs logo release the play button, a screen will appear, select format, then yes (it will delete all of your information on the player) then once you are done formatting select reboot. Once it's done rebooting connect it to your computer! It fixed the problem for me!

My mp3 won't start.

You could try reflashing the firmware onto the player. Go to and look for the support section. Search under downloads for firmware for your player and download that. Follow the instructions on the website.
