I have a sanyo universal remote and toshiba tv. Used the code 114 lite blinked 5 times but it still won't work the tv. I even changed the batteries in the remote. The remote number is rmt-u110,

simply point remote to the camera on your phone you should see a blink from remote if you see it it could be the ir on the tv if not get your remote serviced at your local repair shop

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

NB: Switch OFF and switch ON your TV with its front panel power ON/OFF switch each time before trying an other code.

Follow the steps..its easy. It will ask for the model of your remote which you will find where your batteries are located..The code I used for my APEX tv was 0023.. to load the code first hold the setup button until the red light stays on..then press tv or whatever mode you are setting up..then enter the code and if the red light goes off it is the right code and you should then press channel up to see if it works...If this code doesn't work the site above offers other codes.. I programmed an rca universal remote by:
TURN ONTHE TV
HOLDING DOWN THE TV ANDTHEON/OFF BUTTON ATTHE SAME TIME.UNTILTHEON/OFF BUTTON STAYED ILLUMINATED.
PRESS THE PLAYBUTTON IT WILL BLINK,IF TV DOES NOT GO OFF PRESS PLAY EVERY 5 SECONDS UNTIL TV GOES OFF.
ONCE TV TURNS OFF HIT THE REVERSE BUTTON THE TV WILL COME BACK ON.
HIT THE STOP BUTTON TO SAVE THE CODE.
REPEAT THIS BUT HOLD THE OTHER DESIRED DEVICE INSTEAD OF THE TV.

I am sorry but you cannot. maybe you can borrow one from a neighbor or a friend.

The codes listed by Sanyo for my TV won't work in my star Choice remote.
I tried 017 021 039 056 057 058 and 140 as listed by Sanyo.
Any ideas?

The code for a Sanyo TV set should be 100. Press and hold the TV button on the remote while entering the code. The light should blink 5 times if it was accepted, and then you can test to see if it worked.
