Recheck for correct fuel pressure and if low buy a better quality fuel pump from a higher quality parts store. Cheap fuel pumps don't last very long. Sometimes only a few days or faulty right out of the box. I have seen this many times over again.

First you need to find out if the fuel pump is kicking on or not by turning the key forward (without starting the car) and listening for a humming noise coming from the gastank (your new fuel pump) if no noise is heard, you need to check your connections.

95 lincoln cont. occassional crank fast ,but no start ,intermittent ,later will instantly start as should

I think what you have going on here is a failing electric fuel pump, this is what they do when they are worn out, it is a rotary pump and the rotor sticks due to worn bearings. To confirm this get a can of spray starting fluid from any auto parts store, next time it won't start spray it into the air intake hose to the engine, if it fires right up you have a bad pump. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, remember to also replace the fuel filter when the pump is replaced. Also check the connector to the fuel pump cutoff safety switch for signs of melting, replace the switch and connector as needed, this is caused by a defective fuel pump drawing excessive current.

Cutting off while driving

Try checking fuel pressure again with a guage on the fuel rail. If you still notice the pressure is low and you know the fuel pump is good, the fuel pressure regulator may be bad. Sometimes you can tell by unplugging the vacuum hose from it and if you see gas that means the diaphram is leaking. If everything checks out with the fuel system a bad EGR valve or EGR valve solenoid can cause cars to sort of stall under half throttle. Good luck and keep me posted.
