Question about GE Profile Harmony WPGT9360E 4.0 Cu. Ft. King-Size Washer with Stainless Steel Basket
My G.E. Harmony washer displays "a problem has been detected with this unit" on the screen and it makes a beeping noise until I try to push a button on the washer. I have unplugged it from the wall and inspected the inside of the washer but I don't see any obvious problem. I manually rotated the tub and it turns fine. What could possibly be the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks!

Troy, see if you can get it into a factory test mode. Start by pushing the power button on; next push the home button, next push the help pad, next push the start/stop and help pad together for 3 seconds, push the test load, the contrast screen should display. Now you can cycle through the different tests or let it cycle through on it's own, each test should time out after 5 minutes. This test will include the main board operation. If any tests fail, a failure code will appear. To exit the test, press stop/start to scroll down the screen list until the screen darkens. In case this model number is not exactly correct you should be able to find a tech sheet under the consol to guide you through these test proceedures. We need an error code to find the real problem, almost sounds like a pressure switch problem. Catriver..post back.

It sound like you have a blocked pump. Remove the pump from the machine and check where do you have this clogged, inside the pump or in one of the pipes connected to it. Good luck!

If the home screen is not displayed press home then help. Then press my cycles and back together for 3 seconds. Read what its says and then turn the power off then back on. It should be ready to go!

As someone else has mentioned elsewhere, if you hold the 'my cycles' and 'back' buttons for about 3 seconds or so, it gives you more information on the diagnostics. Write down what it says if you want, because it erases the errors after it shows them to you. Press 'more' when you can, and when you've seen it all, press 'exit'. At that point, it may or may not go back to the usual start screen.
If it does _not_ go back to the start screen, I can frequently just hit the power button to turn it off, then turn it on again, and it's ready to wash.

Press and hold the my cycles button and the back button simultaneously for 3 seconds. This will reset the control panel and allow you to see any stored errors.
