Question about SIM2 Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Projector not working

I have a Sim2 projector. I have owned it for abut 3 years. Recently when turning the unit on it would start out with a high pitched whine until warming up then the lamp would come on and the picture would be fine. Now the unit turns on for about 1 minute then shuts down without the lamp ever coming on. Do I need a new lamp? Is there something else wrong? Not sure where to turn. There does not seem to be much in the way of customer support for the Sim2 brand. I have left voice mails to the Florida "customer service" office with no return calls. Any insight would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with a HT250, red power light on back of projector will not come on. But if you leave the projector plugged in and power switch on it will light after some time and the projector works as normal. Any suggestion please email lkrause0@fuse.net

I have a nuvision 52 inch lcdlp the projection tv with RGB. It will turn on and have picture like it's supposed to but after about 3 minutes give or take the picture and projector shuts off and power

Usually when this sort of thing occurs with a projection unit, the problem is due to overheating. The unit is designed to self-protect if the temperatures get too high. Check to ensure that the air intake/exhaust areas are clear and that the cooling fans are operational. Excessive dust/dirt can also cause overheating. The unit may need to be cleaned. Avoid disturbing too much when cleaning internal parts and ensure that power is disconnected when cleaning.

High pitched whine/sometimes TV won't turn on

The power supply on this model will whine when it is shorted or overloaded - the set would have to be brought in to determine exact cause.

I removed my SIM2 HT200 projector lamp and ordered a new one, which I have. Unfortunately, I did not properly mark which of the two projector wires is the ''positive'' wire. I suspect that although it is...

I tested the wires and discovered that the short wire is the positive wire. The DC voltage is extremely high and burned out the first "cheap" meter I used. Be careful not to tighten the positive wire on with the furnished nut to much, as it could cause ceramic to break and the bulb to lose life.
