Grid lines on macro, no display on LCD

Experts out there need your inputs.

lately, my canon powershot a460 seems not working properly. i did not change any settings at all but when i used it one morning, the results were so bright, no image can be seen on the LCD. all white. no flashes were used. i used the macro mode to take a closer shot but got no good results. there were lines if i change the pixel mode. even taken indoors, the image is just plain white or if not very bright.


notice the grid lines on the 2nd pic? that's been the results already. i did no edits to these pix.

what happen? i already reset it to its original settings but the results were still the same.
