InFocus LP280: Where does the Red/Blk wire go and where do I put

I took apart my InFocus LP280 and got distracted by phone call...trying to put back together but I can't remember/figure out how to route the Red/Blk wire with the carbon tube on it AND where exactly should that tube fit in the case? I would greatly appreciate anyones input & pics would be a bonus!

This product is a projector by InFocus, not an actual TV set. The model is LP280 v1.26 and looks like the pic in this link: https://portal.infocus.com/support/Produ...
which happens to a link to the ref. manual and user guide, but absent the service manual or schematics. Is anyone familiar with projectors?

I have found a service manual for the x1 model but nothing for your model. could you send me a picture of your projector lamp assembly and, the opening where it goes?

you should have a power wire that goes on the bulb end, probably the (red/black stripe?) any other wire (bare or, black?) should be ground and attach to the side of the high pressure mercury bulb (carbon tube?) If you only have two wires red would be power and, go to the bulb end and, black would be ground and, go to the bulb's side connector. the bulb should fit face-first toward the projector lense and, shine through the lense.

InFocus LP280 turns on then shortly turns itself off. Will not stay on.

There are 3 things that you should check.
1. The lamp
2. The firmware version. (the last is the "1.26E")
3. The power supply (may exibit oxidation in the ECA main board conector). And you need a technician to clean it.

I cant play my dvd on my infocus LP280 projector

Hi,
Please provide us with more details like the DVD player make/model and what is the connection cable you are using.
Normally, you should be able to connect the DVD player through the AV out pins and connnect it to AV in of the projector.
Other options that can be used are:
S-Video connector, component video connectors, and DVI-D connections
Please reply for more help and clarifications. Thanks.

I believe it is either the wire for the back lighting or the wire to hook up to a switched ignition in a car so that the CB comes on when you turn on your vehicle.

Infocus LP280 projector will shutdown itself

The Lamp cooling fan is not working or the fan speed control chip/circuit has failed. Do not run the projector until it is repaired as this condition rapidly destroys the lamp!! If the cause of the problem is simply the fan itself. It can quite easily be acquired and replaced by someone who is electro-mechanically savvy.

If the problem is on the main board (also very possible) it is substantially more difficult to repair and should only be done by someone who is an order of magnitude above just electro-mechanically savvy.
Also if the problem is in fact the main board an authorized service center would just replace it!

Blown fuse - What's it protect???

in what country ?
My '89 2.3 liter Isuzu pickup
NO TRANSMISSION STATED (auto or stick)?
fuse are to prevent FIRES
ever see a wire burn red hot and then melt a fuel line (ugly *****)
fuses on cars with fuel are serious.!
lesson 2 is There are not 1 fuse for every load in a car, or you'd have 100s fuses.
lesson 3, the power distribution is a tree with branches fused.
same deal on cars, trains, boats and planes.
for the same reasons
my wild guess1
you work with no 89 2.3 liter schematic the proceed to hack it and find fuses blow. sure.

so my guess 2 is you bypassed the starter solenoid ?
and overload that circuit.!
the relay has purpose, its a current buffer (lesson4)
the reason car didnt crank
is the relay
the blk/white wire uses like 8amp
current is buffered by the relay to 30 times less.
This less current save you from burning up and expensive
ignition switch, (some are $100)
that 5 relay saves 100 bucks. and repeats.
the relay also us for logic
the USA laws mandate a park /in gear lock out
so the relay did that, at blk-pink wire.
now defeated. by you.
try a new relay (if hacking is a goal)
and put switch to ground (pin1,) and pin2 of switch to
brown -red wire on new relay. bam starter fixed
and no burn burned up ignition swithes or fuses.
see fuse 12 below. 10amps
that fuse can not run a solenoid direct, the relay must be working.
the starter solenoid uses a 60amp fuse. blk wire (main).

InFocus LP280 problem

Hi there

I'm afraid this might be a faulty Mainboard.

Your lamp will never make the Projector show funny stuff on the image.

Must warn you that a new Mainbaord is quite expensive

Lakewood HV-18 fan... how to wire switch?

My switch unit also fell apart as I took the back off and I didn't get to see the correct position of the switch. After much trial and error, I found this to be the initial "Off" position (see photo)
