Need to replace the display flex ribbon cable to solve the flickering and color lines problem. This cable gets damage over the time of long usage.

Symptoms line up with video card going out, or more likely screen going out. if you turn off the computer and turn it back on if its immediatly reddish/ pink tint then its your screen. Can be a bit expensive to fix. also could be as simple as the ribbon cable inside became loose, test this theory by lightly shaking the laptop. if the screen goes from good color and back to pinkish then that is your issue and you will need a repair shop if you are not comftable with opening up your machine! Your VGA card is malfunctioned, sometimes its the internal cable connector, try to connect an external monitor to see if this still happens, if still happens then goto a technician.

The line may indicate 2 things, your video card is corrupted or damaged, or or lcd monitor is itself damaged. Proceed to your local service center/supplier.
