Thanks for your reply. The issue is with the failed convergence (STK) ICs which needs to be replaced. It’s not a difficult job if you want to do this yourself, you should require some basic knowledge about soldering-resoldering components. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then replace the ICs (STK ICs) which are located behind the black heat sink and also check the resistors as if they are short the ICs might blow again after sometime. There are repair kits available which includes repair instructions with the parts, if you want to do it yourself, you can buy and repair it yourself. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks

Phillps tv model number 50pl9126d/37 what is the red light mean

It depends on whether you are able to see a clear image or not. check the lamp first if its more than 2 yrs old you may need a new one, last one we checked with the problem you describe had a fan running slow. The fan nearest the lamp needs to run correctly or the tv will shut down. Good luck !

Do you have the users manual? If not, google your model number and select manualslib.com. I am not seeing error codes to help diagnose, do you see any error indication? Your users manual says to check speaker impedance for a mismatch to your amp and speakers. There may be a problem causing the unit to go into protect mode. Check all speakers and speaker wiring. Try removing all speakers and see if problem duplicates. Has a timer function been accidentally programmed? If you have a mute indication display, see if that is activating. Are you using HDMI functions, HDMI intermittencies can be prevalent on different makes and models. Try different inputs, does failure remain? If this doesn't help, more than likely you need professional repair. Is overheat protection showing? Does check spkr wires show on display? As a last resort, before service, do a system reset to factory values, pg 59 or 63 in manual.

Projection TV Phillps 60PP9202/17F, bought 2004. Was watching and suddenly the picture went out. All connections are good and components work. Can you help?

Hi.

If there is no power at all, then it is either the power cord or power board inside the TV.

If after the fault the TV went in standby and does not wake up, then the TV is in protect mode.

In protect mode higher voltages from PSU gets shut down and TV remains in standby.(see also Why my TV does not start up and remains in...)

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so. Then connect powr

If that does not work, and you keep having the TV in protect mode, it means that there is a fault.

In that case call the support number listed on Philips user manual to arrange repair.

If you are a technician I can try locating parts, service manual and giving more directions. Common faults that affect a Philips rear projections are convergence, PSU board, lamp and ballast assembly.

Regards.

You got an issue with overheating.  TV is designed to shut off to protect electronic components if TV overheats.  Take it to the shop and have them open this thing up to identify the faulty circuit.  Also, check to make sure your not blocking the heat vents.

When taking pic in sunlight - lcd screen is whited out!!

I think that's normal. I also have experienced the same always when the screen is exposed to sunlight. Try adjusting its brightness or use an anti-glare protection.
