MS Word runing VERY slow on Windows 7

Still have not solved the last problem i posted: MS Word in Office 2003 on Windows7 is slower than molasses. Takes forever to open, save or close a doc. I often get a "not responding" message before a doc finally closes. My patience has run out - i am ready to throw my computer out the window. Please help!!!

Solution: Changed the "normal.dot" - works every time! Easiest way: Close all Word docs. Open Word - file - new - on left: templates - on my computer - blank doc - right click - properties - copy location (this is the information you are digging for). Go to "computer - OS:C - enter the location (path) in the bar on top - left click - rename Normal. Close. Re-open Word.

Ok not seeing prior post, did you install it on win 7 or just migrate it. Now assuming you migrated. "I would uninstall" if you have the disks, and do a fresh install. some of the directories or iinternal drivers may not have migrated well in the change over from what you had to win 7

Me personally would always do a fresh install, dont forget to save your files or prior word docs to a differant directory or place before uninstalling and and before reinstalling "do a system defrag" this will insure that your new install goes in all (so to speak) the same cells.

Hope it helps

Is your PC clean? That is free from virus, trojans, malware/spywares...etc...?

Do you install any security programs eg. antivirus or antimalware/spywares programs?

1. Install a CCleaner here. Run the CCleaner to spring clean your system. (files clean-up, registry clean-up..etc...)
2. Install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, install, update and scan your PC, and remove any nasty files detected.
3. Install antivirus, Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus, install update and scan your PC and remive the any infected files.

All the above programs are free!!!

Do the above, and your PC should improve.

Spyware is computer software that spies on your internet usage. It collects highly personal and confidential information like credit card numbers, IPs and even addresses. The spyware program gets the credit card entries as the user logs them on a web form or an online application. Some spyware are even programmed to record your usage of the internet, what sites you visit, what files you download and how long you stay online.

It is not a problem but a question. Can I install Outlook in windows 7 and will ntelos support it as my mailbox?

Hi,

Yes, but you will need to make sure if the version of Outlook that you have is comaptible to windows 7.
Officially only Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 are supported to run on Windows 7. This is similar to Windows Vista which also did not support earlier versions of Outlook. You can install a version prior to Outlook 2003 on Windows 7 though but there are several issues which you could encounter.
In addition to these version requirements, even with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 there are several compatibility issues which you could encounter on Windows 7. The most critical of these issues have been taken care off in prior service pack releases. So before starting Outlook on Windows 7, make sure your first apply at least Service Pack 3 for Office 2003 and Service Pack 2 for Office 2007.

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

Microsoft office is not installed in this laptop windows7

Microsoft Office is a separate product from a PC or Laptop Windows 7 Operating System (O/S) or for that matter any other version.
Some machine come pre-loaded with MS Office 'Evaluation' or 'Trial' version as part of the Computer manufacturer 'bundle': this version usually stop working after 30 days from the Trial activation.
If your machine did not come with MS Office, you can download a free trial MS Office 10 package directly from www.microsoft.com ... but keep in mind that it will expire.

ps. A free open source office 'compatible' software can be downloaded from http://www.openoffice.org/

Hope it helps!

I entered the product key located on the back of my windows7 2010 laptop. It keeps telling me it is the wrong key for my microsoft office for home and Student. Can Someone please help me to get my product...

The key on the laptop is for windows 7, not office. When you buy a new laptop now, you get a trial version of office home and student. If you want to continue using that software you would need to purchase a key from a reputable supplier.

Need a product key?

It will. it is only a 30 day trial.
You will need to follow the instructions that office give you when the trial has ran out.
So, you will need to Either buy it, or you can use a free alternative like Open Office
