Question about Garmin GPS
You have Garmin lock activated and there are two ways to disable it. The
first is to enter the PIN code, which you have forgotten, but the
second method is to take the unit to the "security location" where you
initially chose your PIN code. Garmin recommend that this is NOT your
home or workplace as they are the places a thief is likely to take your
unit to in order to try and bypass the PIN.
If you cannot recall either the PIN or the security location then the unit can only be unlocked for you by Garmin. The service is only available to the registered user and only if proof of purchase is also provided. If you didn't register your warranty or if you don't have proof of purchase then the unit is effectively scrap as it is unusable. Even if you do meet Garmin's requirements there is a charge for the service, and so unless your unit has up to date maps the investment is probably not cost-effective.
Hopefully you'll remember your security location and will regain use of your Garmin. If so, don't forget to reset the PIN code, and please take a moment to rate my answer.
