Where to start, ok this is a super p4sda rev 1.1, , i think the mod.# is sa3530696, also there is a # by the cmos batt. which is p4sda m.b. 01181-1 undernieth that is48.33w01.011, phoenix bios d688 bios phoenix 1998 o34866597.ok that is all i can find on the mb.now where do i start, i guess from the start, i decided i was going to build my own computer out of some old and some new parts.i started with another gygabyte mb but in the end it had a couple of swoll capacitors. so i put this one in and checked all the caps, they were good.i checked the psu out with tester and it showed everything good. by the way i did have it pluged in, in case you wondered, i also checked the cmos batt. with multitester and it showed good.,i also put in a new 478cpu and heatsink and fan. it has a place for agp4xpro, also 6 pci slots and a cnr slot which i don't understand what that is, or if i need it.but the problem is no display on monitor, monitor good i know. but not sure of the video card or memory.i have a256mbddr dimm-n 32wnd. not sure if that is right. also tried many diff.vid. cards pci and agp.cards and memory both old. not sure what to do, i have been gooling for 2 days now and never get a straight anwser. can you help me? rodsupply@live.com

PCI card means Peripheral communication interface card you can connect many device card like usb card.VGA card, sound card,tv tuner card, ethernet lan card into pci slot.If you haven't on board vga on motherboard then you need to connect VGA card into pci slot. 256 mb DDR ram memory is compatible with mb. Pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes then power up the all settings defaults also reconnect both connection to harddrive. Make sure motherboard is not ground with cabinet. For get monitor display pull cmos for 10 minutes reconnect ram memory change RAM try with 1 ram 1 by 1 if you have 2 RAM. Open processor and it's fan then reconnect clean dust from all parts then check. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

ok i understand what the pci slots are for. i did as you ask, hooked up everything except the ribbons, waited about 15 mins. on cmos batt., not sure if you wanted me to do that or not so i did'nt., i put in 2x 256mb ddr memory, by the way i have 3 slots for that.,psu run everything just fine. i just do not understand what the problem is unless i have a whole bunch of bad vid. cards or my mb is bad. but i do not see any sign of swoll or burst caps. i got a question, the vid cards that have a bunch of pins sticking out of it. are there suppose to be anything hooked to them? and if so where do they go? also i have a 1394, i believe is firewire, i don't need that do i? none of that would have anything to do with display would it? thanx rodsupply.

  • Remove vga card from motherboard and other pci slot then start motherboard with only ram just connect keyboard cable to motherboard then check num lock led on keyboard after power up if it is on /off when you press num lock then your cpu gives display but if it will stay constant then your motherboard is faulty if your both RAM are working fine.
So If num lock led is flashes when you start computer with out vga card then your vga card is faulty.
    Change it.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

ok lets try this one more time, i hooked up just the keyboard {2} and checked but keyboard just flashed all 3 keys 1 time and that was it. i tried to hold down #lock but would not light up. keyboard had no affect whats so ever. but i did not have no ribbions hooked up. should have i? or it would not have made any diff.?

  • Just connect ATX power connector from smps power supply to motherboard ,RAM memory and keyboard also connect processor and it';s fan then power up if num lock led is on and off when you press num lock key then motherboard is fine other wise you need to repalce or repair motherboard.
Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

well i hooked up the atx from psu to mb, with ram and processor and fan. hooked up keyboard and turned on, all 3 lights flashed at once, then went off. itried to press the #lock key but nothing came on. tried 2 diff. keyboards but nothing. this makes the 2nd mb i have been throuygh in the last week or so. i fig if i did not see any bad caps i would get lucky.just bought new midtower case with 450 watt psu. came today. pent.4 is the biggest board i got. i must have about 20 to 25 old computers but i think they are all pent2 and 3. i can't afford a mb at todays prices. this comp. i'm on is a pent4, but did not won't to leave myself without one at all. even though this one has some issues i bought 3 foxconn cpu coolers with heatsinks for 478 sockets. let me ask you something i have a couple other mb that use 478 cpus but they are smaller in size. i was just wondering if in this case size mattered (ha,ha) ? i mean in being faster , remember i told you i bought a 250gb hhd (pata) 2 new 478 cpus , 3 foxconn cpu coolers with heatsink , and 2 sticks of ddr400 memory 1gb each., and now this beautiful case with 450 watt psu. all i like is a mb, and because the are so high i just thought i would get lucky with one of these pent4s. i want to thank you for your help and ask for any last words of advice or any other websites that i might visit. thnx rodsupply.

  • Try with only 1 RAM memory.
Open motherboard and remove it from cabinet cover then check your motherboard with ram outside of cpu sometimes motherboard is ground with cabinet so it does not give display.
Open processor and it's fan then reconnect both.
Then check if still same issue then you need to replace or repair motherboard.
Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Time and date stop when laptop powered off.

it sounds like the cmos batt had the same problem with my desk top once changed cmos batt all was fine .the batt is located on the under side of the laptop you will see some removeable panels just check under these, but be carefull the batt might be soldered in, some are some are not. if soldered in you might want to get a professional to change it as the heat could damage your computer.
hope this helps.

I think you are right, you have to update your BIOS, or try to change your Kingston to Super Talent or other compatible with your motherboard ram. Good luck!

How do you check the regulator to see if its bad. On a honda foreman 400 .1998

first unplug the connector for the startor. then check for power AC on all 3 wires, it has to be the same at 4000 or 5000 rpm. some 50 or 60 volts AC. if this is ok then plug it back and check the power DC in the batt. if it is 12.70 dc volts or under when the revs go high then it is the regulator.
