Any HVAC supply house or you can try WW Grainger, but between the price of the motor and the time and labor to install it, it might be cheaper to buy a new unit.

I have a Goodman CPLE30-1A outside unit and the fan stop spinning. The fan stop spinning so I turn off the main power to the unit and I can spin the fan with the power turn off so I'm not sure if its...

There are a few things here that could be wrong.
1 Fan motor start capacitor is bad.Silver battery looking device on side of fan.Remove and replace with a new one.

2 Contactor for fan motor is pitted or burnt .If this is the case you will need a new contactor.

3 Fan motor is bad.Check top two before assuming this.
Check all fuses and circut breakers also.

The pipes had ice on the inside pipe and outside on the ac unit. All was shut off til ice melted. HVAC Tech was called in...motor, we were told needed to be replaced and so it was. New motor, new...

Ice forming on the suction side is normal and on really humid and hot days you will see it as the unit runs longer and the suction is very cold. I am not certain as to why the tech told you to use a sprinkler on the system unless he thought you had a Hi head pressure or he just wanted to calm your concerns regarding the icing as you say the fan came back on ????. .. now with all that said it appears something got wet and shorted out .. could be a number of things . the outdoor fan contactor, the tstate wiring, or the motor got wet and burned out... was the unit cooling well even with the ice? I think it should have .. let me know.

My Carrier Tech 2000ss.The fan on the unit outside runs continuosly. The heat and cold work just fine, but the out side fan never stops.I was told ,that it is probably a relay switch.Tell me what you think.

Sounds like the fan relay is stuck and staying on so that the fan continually spins. Pretty common issue and shouldnt be to much for a tech to replace. If you do the job, just make sure that you get the right part. Parts house will need serial and model number for the unit

I plugged up my wg5005 after a year in closet and it makes noise but the fan doesn't blow any air out..It runs but fan blades aren't spinning

you said 'it runs but fan blades aren't spinning.'

Taking this "literally" - what it means is that the fan blade is 'loose' on the shaft of the motor. Look at the fan blade, the hub - in particular - and you will see where a 'set screw' should be.

If it's still there and 'loose,' all you have to do is 'tighten the screw' on the shaft of the motor (on the flat side).

If the screw is missing - you just need to find a screw that will fit the hole and replace it.

All of the above being said - it's also possible that you are hearing the compressor run and thinking the fan motor is running when in reality it's not. In the case that the fan motor is actually "not" running - then you have a completely different problem - the most likely problem being the fan motor is defective - in which case you will be out around $150 and up to replace it.

With the cost of window units today being fairly reasonable - you will probably be better off looking for a new unit.

Still, on the chance you have a simple problem, i.e. a burnt wire, or bad capacitor - it might be worth it to have a Service Tech take a look.

Hope this helps.

does the unit outside run at all,can you hear a humming noise or the compressor run or is it just dead.if you hear the comp. run or a humming noise then i would say it needs a new motor.but if you hear absolutely nothing out there, what i would do if you dont have a meter, is open panel on condenser and push the contacts in on the contactor when this is done its like jumpstarting the unit,it should all come on ,compressor and fan motor,if motor comes on then your contactor is bad (cost approx.$50.00) if it doesnot come on then its motor when replacing motor be sure to get a new capacitor with it (cost $80.00 to $120.00 plus cap 5mhz.$5.00 to $15.00) depends on where you get it home depo/menards/etc.high priced try granger or a local a/c distributor youll get it much cheaper.hope this helps

RV air conditioner. Compressor running, fan stops before cool

The fan motor is getting hot and going off on the internal overload in the motor.
This is caused by either a low voltage, a bad capacitor, or tight or dry bearings in the motor.
To check the bearings turn the power off to the unit, then spin the fan blade if it spins freely then the bearings are ok.
To check the capacitor you will need some kind of tester or you can buy a capacitor and replace it, that's what a lot of people do. They usually don't cost very much.
To check the voltage you will need a voltmeter and measure the volts at the unit.

Sounds like your motor is bad check when it was installed all the units have a 5 yr warranty on parts but a HVAC contractor has to change it for the warranty
