Question about Pride Mobility Victory 3 Wheel Electric Scooter

1 Answer

No Power on my Victory when not plugged in.

I just replaced the batteries in a scooter that was given to me. It still will not move forward or reverse and the horn and light will only work for a second or so when i unplug the power charge cord. When plugged in the horn works and the light will come on and the green led on the charger comes on. The DC amp meter where the plug goes in never moves? When i unplug it after a while of charging the horn will come on for a couple seconds thern die out. The batteries are reading at 12.75 and 12.74v respectively. I did check the inline fuse by the dc meter and it was good. Thanks for any help?

Is the freewheel mechanism engaged if this is not the case I suggest you check all the wireing looms and also check each wire individually it may be that some are broken or have simply not been connected up to each other or may have been connected wrongly to each other and really you should not be useing the lights or the horn when it is plugged in to the charger some types of scooter also have a reset switch usually beneath the rear shroud some where usually you are able to access this by putting your hand into the opening that the seat post goes through upon the rear shroud although if you are not aware of exactly where it is you may find it easier to remove the rear shroud to find it also strip all the plastic shrouds from the scooter front and rear and check all the connections of the wires and make sure they are clean and have not become crusted up with rust or any thing else for that matter and if they have then ueing a mall wire brush or a piece of sandpaper clean them up and re-assemble them make sure you only do one at a time though to make sure you do not connect them up wrongly alternativly if one wire proves to be faulty then it may be easier and better to dissconnect it at both ends and rip out the faulty wire and get yourself to halfords or a similar shop that sells car parts and buy yourelf some wire as well as a crimping set for connecting wires and there individual connectors and then rewire the faulty part or parts try useing a circuit tester on all the vires for each and every individual wire until you have tracked down the fault or the faulty parts or components and replace what ever is faulty or maybe faulty clean up all the connetions make sure that no rain or moisture has got into or affected the parts or the connections as they will and can short out also test and check out the circuit boards and if it is thee that need replaceing it may be cheeper to just brek the scooter down for spares and sell the spares off seperatly and put any money you gain into a piggy bank until you have enough to buy another second hand scooter or even a new scooter although you must make sure any of the parts you do sell are in good working order as if it is te circuit board that are at fault unless your able to replace them or fix them cheaply then it is not worth keping the scooter intact and you are better scrapping these parts as they cost too much to replace unless you are lucky enough to get another scooter of the same make and model type that i working except for say the seat or bodywork or sub-frame is not any good and then from these two scooters make one good one if it is possible as the parts otherwise are not worth the cost of replacing them however check that you have got the correct battery types as they should be sealed lead or sealed gel batteries as some make the silly mistake of buying themelves a couple of car batteries or similar thinking that it is going to be a cheap andeasy fix that will work however this is not the case also do not recharge the battery for a few minute or an hour or two but leave them charging up over night or at least for 8 to 12 hours however if it is not the reset switch or any other problem that can be easily be resolved check about in the free ads and other various places that advertise cheap and free scooters and scooter parts to see if you can pick up the parts you need cheaply good luck and bet wihes I hope your problems are resoved soon and quickly

When i go forward or reverse i get a click the scooter does not move

Please check near the rear to ensure the the scooter is in gear. There should be a switch that needs to be moved up/down. Let me know if this is not the issue.

check the freewheel lever on th rear of the chair near the right rear wheel if you can push the scooter easily then you are in freewheel locate the lever and move it to the drive mode and try to drive the scooter again if it still won't move then you have other problems that can only be checked by a service tech Hope this helps

From willaston auto electrics adelaide , customer brouht in a pride pathfinder 4 wheeler no forward or reverse movement, has power to volt gauge, horn works, any suggestions appreciated

neville the problem could be numerous things but lets try the simple ones first. a bad throttle pot or speed control pot can cause that problem. Both of those are located in the tiller console and that has to be removed to test them. You can ohms check both with power off and you can voltage check them with power on. You should get a smoth change in resistance as you turn th speed pot and as you move the throttle forward and reverse with power off. alsdo chech the connections in the tiller and remove the seat and battery cover and check the connections at the rear of the scooter sometimes just moving the wires can get it moving again but that won't help you locate the problem if you can't isolate the bad connection or bad wire. Scooters are tough to repair because of the many connectors that they have and the cables runnig front to rear that can cause problems especially with Pride scooters Good Luck I know I didn't give you much but I'm not fond of working on scooters Hope this Helps

When I switch my mobility scooter on lights etc all work but no drive

hi, I first suggust you make sure that Freewheel is disengaged,

to test this try to push the scooter forward if it moves forward move the lever ,

Check the Wigwam or throttle controls to make sure they are not loose,

Check for reset switches under the seat or on the steering stem,

Check for car type fuses under the seat.
