First check the door switch, push the paddle in and out,if it doesn't click you have a bad door switch.if that's ok check the thermal fuse,if the filter is on top of the dryer the fuse is in the back if the filter is inside the fuse is in the front located on the blower wheel housing.if it's the thermal fuse most likely you need to clean out the dryer.remove and clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of the dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and the vent outside.if it's a long run from the back of the dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line.the part number will be a 3392519 if it's a round thermal fuse it will be a 3390719,these are the most common thermal fuses, next time send the model number and i can look up your machine, let me know how you make out.if you don't clean the dryer the fuse will pop again

When I push the start button, the light blinks but won't start. Looks like pause button may be stuck

If the start button blinks and the dryer does not start, it's possible that the pause button may be stuck. Here are some steps to try and resolve the issue:
  1. Unplug the dryer: Safety first! Unplug the dryer from the power source before doing any troubleshooting.
  2. Check the pause button: Make sure the pause button is not stuck or jammed in any way. Press and release the button several times to see if that helps.
  3. Check the door switch: If the pause button is not the issue, check the door switch. Open and close the door several times to ensure that the switch is functioning properly.
  4. Check the circuit breaker: Check your home's circuit breaker to ensure that the dryer is getting power. If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset it.
  5. Call for service: If you have tried all of these steps and the dryer still will not start, it may be time to call for service. A technician will be able to diagnose the issue and provide a solution.
Remember to always put your safety first and unplug the dryer from the power source before performing any troubleshooting.

Dryer won't start. Door is fully closed, I checked the circuit breaker, the lint catch is fully in place. set timer and push start, but nothing happens

You can check the door switch...its a small lever like button that the door pushes inward when closed...with the door open press it softly and listen for a click...if you have a light inside the drum it should go out when you press the switch..If its not that.. it could be a the timer switch/dial and those could cost upward of a $100...these part can found with any local repair shop/person Good Luck

Dryer will not start when door is closed and start button is pushed. the digital display works when setting cycle, in fact everything seems normal except when the start button is pushed, nothing happens.

could be several things but mot likely the switch that tells the system tha the door is closed is not working I suggest going to http://www.repairclinic.com/ to see what tey kno about your specific make and model and the ot common issues with them. chances are if its an electro-mechanical failure it's not just you :)

Good luck, Enjoy :)

Dryer won't start

Does the drum light come on if the door is opened ? Those doors can be tricky, they have 2 latches, one top and one bottom. Close the door, give a slight push at the top of the door and on the bottom, the latches will become easier to close with use. Try it for now though. Other than that, I've seen loose wires from transportation, poor outlet wiring, and even breakers not "on" in my travels of service. Good luck

Dryer won't start

sounds like the start windings in the motor have failed you will need a new motor to repair this.

Whirl pool dryer LEC9000PW0 will not turn on

Has a household fuse blown or has a circuit breaker tripped?
There may be 2 household fuses or circuit breakers for the dryer. Make sure both fuses are intact and tight, or that both circuit breakers have not tripped. Replace the fuse(s) or reset the circuit breaker(s). If the problem continues, call an electrician.
Is the correct power supply available? (Electric dryers only)
Electric dryers require 240-volt power supply. Check with a qualified electrician.
Is the dryer door firmly closed?
Your dryer door may not be fully closed. It may look shut, but may not be latched. Push on the door to engage the latch or latches. Some models have an upper and lower latch. Both latches must be secure for the dryer to run.
Was the Start, Push to Start or Hold to Start button firmly pressed?
Large loads may require the Start, Push to Start, or Hold to Start button to be pressed and held for two to five seconds.
Is the Cycle Control knob set on a Sensor Dry or Timed Dry cycle? (on some models)
The Cycle Control knob must be set in a Automatic Dry or AccudryTM or Timed Dry cycle. The dryer will not start if set on the Wrinkle ShieldTM option.
Is Controls Locked status light on? (on some models)
Press and hold the Cycle Signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the Controls Locked feature.
Did you recently install a power supply cord on the dryer? (Electric dryers only)
The power supply cord may be incorrectly installed. If the power cord is incorrectly installed, the dryer may not start or heat. Review the Installation Instructions to check that the power supply cord is properly installed.

Hello mdonettaYou said,
Dryer shut off towels were not yet dry, turned dial to restart dryer acts as if it isn't getting power I closed door and pushed start button. Nothing! Checked breakers and power cord at outlet all checked okay. Any ideas.

yes, try unplugging the power cord or turning off the breaker for 5 minutes. Either will due. Some times the system needs to be reset!
If this does not work there are internal fuses that can be replaced!

Let me know how it goes!
