Question about Thermador Ovens

1 Answer

I have a Thermador double oven, model CT230S4. The upper oven works fine but the lower does not. The dial switch for the lower oven will sometimes give E6 error message, sometimes will turn on the oven if I play with the dial some. It will not allow adjustment of temperature, turning the dial turns oven off. Most times the digital readout is blank. To me it feels like a weak switch. The replacement switch is still available. If this is the problem, I need to know how to remove the front stainless panel to get access to the switch screws retaining which seem to be just behind the panel.

Hi,
Cancel key drive line open

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).
Thanks

There is no key pad on this model. There are two dial controls which turn part number 189806 switch.
If I fiddle with the switch, I can get the oven to heat but I can not get the temperature to change. Most times, without fiddling, I get nothing and sometimes E6 error message.

What does F34 mean as an error message?

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The "F34" code on your model of Thermador double oven indicates the control has detected an error with the airflow for the upper oven ( all lower codes start with "6", upper start with "3" )

This could indicate a faulty blower motor, not coming on at all, or if it does come on and still initiates an F34 error, it is likely the sail switch is sticking. It can be removed and cleaned as they do become contaminated with dirt, grease and dust over time.

The sail switch is located at the very bottom of the ovens where the grill is, under the lower door.

example:

( F34 can also be initiated by a failed "K6" relay on the control board, but that is less likely )

It can be accessed by way of removing the grill, however it is something usually best left to an authorized B/S/H/ service provider as it can be quiet involved and is better to pull the unit from the wall.

**Turn off the 40 amp breaker to the oven before attempting any service...safety first**

B/S/H/ is the parent company for Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Siemens.

Thank you for choosing FixYa today and good luck, please take a moment to rate the info provided here for you.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I am getting an F64 on my thermador electric double wall oven after a few minutes of preheating my upper oven, and the oven turns off. What des this mean?

Hi, i found out from Thermador customer service that error code F64 means that the lower fan switch (located inside the bottom trim on the right side) is not being detected as closed. In my case, this was because the header (P4) on the Display panel had broken loose from the PC board and was no longer making contact. P4 is where the lower fan switch wires connect to the control boards (actually the display panel).

The upper oven works fine. The lower oven won't

Make sure you hit the reset switch first... on top of the lower over... behind the panel...they trip easy and "kill" the oven.

Heating element on upper oven of a wall Thermador Oven

The control switch may be bad on it. If there are 2 elements on the top, they both are not bad at the same time.Check to see if the wires have not burned off the control switch first. Check to see if your breakers are O.K. Turn them both(maybe 3) off and then reset.

Thermador SC302T clicking noise, locked door after power outage

iodine, open the upper oven, look thru the grill below the control panel on the right side and there is your model number. The issue here is that when the power came back on the oven run thru a test and your lower lock motor has failed. It will need to be replaced. Yes the only way to stop this is to shut off the breaker.
