Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

How can i recover my wifi password

You must log into the router using the routers internal ip address. Open your default browser (eg: internet explorer or google chrome) and enter 192.168.1.1 into the address bar, press enter. You will be prompted to provide a username and password, use admin for both, press enter and the Linksys GUI will pop up. You will need to navigate to the wireless settings tab and either write down your current password or change it. Make certain that you save all current settings before exiting the GUI.

Reset Button

Note:

Resetting the router to the factory defaults will delete any changes you have made to the router, including any security settings. This should be used as a last resort.
The first method involves simply pressing a button located on the back of the router. The image below (courtesy of Linksys) shows where the button is located.

How do set a password to secure my connection

I have found this website detailing the steps necessary to setting up your Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router with a password. You can skip steps 7 - 8, unless you know about MAC address filtering, and wish to implement it (MAC address filtering allows only the computers you specify by their MAC address to connect to your network, eliminating outside computers from connecting to it).

How can I change the password on my Linksys router (WRT54G)?

On a computer connected to the linksys now.

Click the link below

192.168.1.1

On the page that comes up, it will ask for a username and password.

type in admin for the password, leave the username blank

You are inside the router..

Click on wireless, then right under it click on wireless security.

Where it says, PSK / Passphrase / Or Network key .. There is a text box to the right

In that text box is your password.. If it looks like **************

You will have to type in a new password, and click apply / save settings.

Then.. The router will restart..

You have now found out, or reset your wireless password.

***Note*** If you changed the password.. The current computer will also have to reconnect to the network, and enter the new password.

Let me know how this worked out for you. If my solution helped you, please rate this solution!
It doesn't cost anything and only takes a second, but it is greatly appreciated.
