WON'T QUIT MAKING ICE. GETS TOO MUCH WATER. CUTOFF DOES NOT WORK

GE Refrigerator Ice Maker won't stop. Problem from first day we bought it. Replaced switch paddle, but still WON'T WORK !! Must be inherently bad design- I'd ask to speak with Imeldt, but he's probably a loser too.
