If cartridge and drum did not solved this problem, this meant that problem lies with mirror or tracking system and repair that bits is usually beyond home user.

firstly try to check and clean all rollers and traction system, work from tray catcher up, follow paper trail and check for stuck hair, bit of paper or any other debries, clean all rollers. then follow paper procedure below:

as this is easy, create a page of white and black about 10mm lines and then print full page on 120g watercolour paper (this is bit grainy paper which will work as "scrub" of the system), this will remove if any, debris from transfer drum in most cases.

if these solution do not work, if you game, remove back, mark all wires where they go, then remove motherboard panel, mark mirror position, clean it up and this will solve the greyness problem, or kill the printer totally...

I have a HP 7590 printer and it sometimes skips line or some of the lines are faded when printing black .

Perform the following steps to reduce or eliminate faded or grainy lines:
  1. Print at a higher quality setting.
  2. Verify that the paper you are printing on will lay flat. Paper that is not laying flat can cause banding when the paper transitions over the rollers or cause the print cartridges to scrape across the surface of the page. Check the top sheet of paper by removing it from the all-in-one and placing it on a flat surface. If the paper does not lie flat, bend it in the opposite direction to straighten it. Figure 3: Faded or grainy bands in print caused by paper that is not flatc00178858.gif 1 - Faded or grainy bands due to roller transition with paper that is not flat. 2 - Faded or grainy bands due to print cartridge scrape on paper that is not flat

If you have tried all that the only other thing that I could think of is the cartridge being defective. You can call Lexmark @ 1-800-332-4120 they may be able to help you replace the cartridge.

Smasung ML2510 Laser print quality poor especially on graphics

Full isn't always the answer, in order to refill a cartridge properly you need to also replace the cleaning blade inside. The blade wears out and doesn't clean the drum properly and also lets toner leak all over. Your best bet is a new OEM cartridge, or put a new cleaning and Dr. blade in yours.

Try cleaning the LED heads. These are located in the lid and are facing you when you have raised the lid. A quick wipe with a dry cloth or tissue should help. If in doubt, check the user manual.

Bad photo quality after changing drum

your laser printer
1) print color quality is now distorted that means print skew (technician called)
2) print tint means the print color not enough density,
3) print mottle means print dirty
you may try
1) print distorted--- find out the skew adjustment from your printer manu, it is adjust the image before transfer to the drum.
2) print skew could be happened when the drum replace install not very accurate, so install it more carefully.
3) print tint---you may increase print density from the manu, not fix,
4) print tint---the toner caridge near life cycle or using the less compatible toner. so you have change the quality toner or cartridge (if near life cycle) to improve quality photo print
5)print mottle---toner quality ? or cartridge near life cycle also cause print dirty paper,

Grey background over entire page.

If toner is getting onto the transfer belt, it can only get there by either being put there intentionally, or leaking.

Failure of Transfer Belt is normally degraded print quality - usually poor density, or a failure of the support behind the belt (usually puncturing the belt), and scoring a drum.
