Can you tell what year a bike was made by serial number?

Generally one cannot get ANY info on a bike from serial number alone. As you don't say anything about brand or model nobody can help your further. If you know the brand, just Google "(brand) serial number" and do some research. For more info see my tip:

I have an old frame cannot identify serial or model C55829

Not usually possible to ID a bike by serial number alone. Only a few brands have serial number that are unique enough to tell what brand they are, and even if you know the brand the serial number will rarely tell you the model, only the year. If there's no head badge (name plate on front of frame) or model decal then it does not matter at all what brand it is. Value is minimal.

Hoe can i identify my bmx using serial number

Impossible to determine. Bike serial numbers are not like the VIN on a car. There is no central database or even consistency within one manufacturer.

If there is no head badge and it's been repainted so there's no model either it simply does not matter what it is. Even with those things present the serial number may be of little or no use. If you know the make/brand just Google "(brand) serial number" and do your own research. That's all anyone else would do.

Purchased bike. stickersays bmx pro 1974 trying to use serial # to see if this is really a bmx pro 1974

As far as I know "BMX Pro" is not a brand/model. Whatever the brand is, the serial number is often not useful. Contact the manufacturer (name on the head tube where the fork goes through the frame.

What kind of bike is this serial # 03-006 ACA021248197 it also has D on bottom tube.

Absolutely no way to know, although possibly the first part is a date code for March 2006. There is no universal database of serial numbers. Each brand has their own method, which may vary over time and which factory made the brand. ***If the brand is not on the head tube and the model is not on the frame the bike has no significant value.***

Is the serial number J96107 a real serial number? I was told that they only went up to J96096.

As with any hardware, you need to supply a "brand name" or manufacturer and what the "model number" is. Of course, a model number is not a serial number. Even within a brand, each model may have its own set of serial numbers. I suggest you do a google search for "brand serial numbers" replacing the word brand with your specific brand. But here is a short cut that may serve you well:

If you want to try another type of direct google search for your:

If you do not know the brand, then try the type of instrument and serial numbers. That may offer you a list of different instrument brands with links to serial numbers associated with them. Here is a result for a search for clarinet serial numbers.

You should be able to find the brand name on the back panel. The serial # may work, but try to get all the numbers and titles off back panel; serial #, model #, and so on good luck !
