Hello,

You will need to reset your XM radio, follow these steps to reset the radio,

Collect and read all of your XM radio documentation, which should include a manual and an 8-digit XM Radio User ID.
Refresh your XM radio through the XM radio website. Tune the radio to the XM preview channel and then input your XM user ID at the XM radio activation reset site. Allow a few minutes for the XM service to reset.

Also, you can manually reset the XM radio without going to the website. A general hard reset can be performed on the unit by selecting the "Menu" option and then selecting "Restore Factory Defaults". The wording may vary, but by selecting to restore all factory defaults the XM radio receiver will be returned to the state it was in when purchased.

Test the XM radio reception after the reset has been completed. Tune the XM receiver to the preview channel to see if the radio is receiving the requested satellite feed. If not, then contact the manufacturer of the receiver and not XM, as further XM radio resets may have to be performed by the manufacturer of the unit.
Take care.

I can't find an xm station in the 2006 impala LS that I bought, but onstar ran the vin number of the vehicle and its telling me that's the radio is xm ready

Try www.xmradio.com This is where you can get info on activating your XM radio. It will cost you about $13 a month and an activation fee. You will need the radio's ID number. If you already know this and dont have the owners manual, stop by a dealer to get it going.

Cant get xm weather on garmin 740s

To receive XM weather or audio, the GPSMAP 740s requires a GXM 40 Smart Antenna with XM subscription.

The GXM 40 Smart Antenna (010-00730-00) is used to receive weather and audio service from XM satellite radio. For details on XM services please visit our XM webpage.

Once a GXM 40 Smart Antenna has been connected to the GPSMAP 640, the device can display the subscription information for the antenna.

From the Home Page in Boating mode:

  1. Select Configure
  2. Select System
  3. Select System Information
  4. Choose Weather Subscription

From the Home Page in Driving mode:

  1. Select Tools
  2. Select XM Services
  3. Select XM Radio
  4. Set the channel selector to channel 0
  5. Select Radio ID

The subscription information will now be displayed on the screen.

Xm will not work

i understand that you're only getting preview channels..and had the radio for almost 3 years....yes, they might be correct that your radio was broken already...but, have you ever asked them to refresh the signal into your radio? If you want you can do it online at www.refresh.xmradio.com all you to do is to key in your 8-digit radio i.d(can be found on ch. 0) then click submit...it'll give u the activation instructions...that u need to follow faithfully..if this won't work..i'll get back to you next week..Godbless!

Xm radio installation in house

hi there..this will be like a walk in a park...first, in your home kit you should be having the ff: antenna, rca cable(audio cables), power adapter & docking station. We just have to 'placed the radio into the docking station' then we just have to plug in the ff cables into the xm receiver..we can start plugging in the rca cable(one ended connector) into the ' audio out ' of your xm radio...the other ends of the rca cables should be plug in into the 'audio in'(at the back/infront of your sound system)...plug in the antenna in the 'antenna out' of your xm( the antenna should be placed into a south facing window and not being block by tall trees and buildings outside)....plug in the power source and turn on the radio....if you got it right you should now be getting the prev.channels/emergency allerts...u can call xm to send a refresh for you to get the complete channels..or you can do it online by logging into www.refresh.xmradio.com(if the radio was already activated) if not, you have to call xm radio to activate it..enjoy listening to xm..Godbless..
