Yes. Symantec security slows down the system a great deal.

Laptop so slow

Most laptops actually run slow because of a hidden part of your system, which is constantly being used by Windows. This part of your PC is called the "registry" and is the central database for Windows, which stores everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper. It's one of the most important parts of Windows and can easily make your PC run slow. The more corrupt registry files your computer has, the more it struggles to read them. The files which makes it run slower and slower. To fix this, you simply need to use a reliable like am using Reginout since 2011. This is the program which actually work by scanning through the registry and fixing any bad files that are in there. Then allows Windows to read as many files as it wants, when it wants to.

Why my psps is slow

Is the PSP an older model? If so, its processor could be having trouble with the newer games. If this is an internet related problem, It is due to the fact the PSP has poor WIFI in the older models. Also for internet related problems, make sure that your PSP is connected to your Wireless Router rather than a PS3 system's internet because that can also cause the WIFI on the PSP to run slower.

Internet Connection could simply be poor. Check your Wireless Router. Hope this helps.

Full system scan not getting completed

Open NIS and run LiveUpdate. Keep re-running LiveUpdate until it says that there are no more updates. Reboot the system if prompted to do so (you may want to reboot even if it doesn't say it is required, just to be sure everything got replaced properly). Open NIS again, select Tasks and run a Full System Scan. The error message should not appear again.

Norton Internet Security 2009 Causes Blue Screen of Death.

Hi there
Thats Norton for you! this is a very heavy and memory hungry program, it takes control of your computer and if you have not got enough system or virtual memory it will cause the pc all kinds of problems. To fix this either upgrade the system memory or don't use Norton, use AVG free instead, its a lighter program and lets you have some speed back over the internet.

good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

Comp very slow and numerous ads pop up.

Hi,

My best advice for you is to do a "Full Clean Install" of Winxp and start again.

You may have a virus or 2 that has corrupted some of the system files.

First go here and do an online scan for viruses, it will take a bit of time but it will do a full scan and tell you whats on your system.

http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=NBOMVCOBSOCUEWUXLQO&bhcp=1

Just click the link and it will take you to Symantec for the online scan and then just click start and follow the directions given, its a very very secure site so don't worry.

Good luck

Cheers
