Hello, I have a Bushnell sportsman 3x9 mounted on a 22. I bought it new last year, but only took it to the range last week. I can't get the left/right cross hairs to move enough. At 25 yards, it shoots 9...

Start buy loosening the scope in the mounts. Loosen the front first to see if it is in a bind (left/right). Tighten it back down but not completely. Loosen the rear looking for some movement or popping sound. If you see a movement or notice some odd thing. check the mounting slots for dirt or dings that may cause an offset to the mount. If all is well. Go and start and zero for 13 - 15 yards. you want to be 1 1/2 inch hi. Now after each shot rap the scope with a screw driver handle or something solid, just to give the scope a shock not hard enough to bend it or dent it but shock it. Large scopes are meant for larger shock than a 22 produces, rapping the scope will help move the cross hairs and settle them in place. Hope this Fixya up. If it does help, please leave a testimonial. Thank you for using Fixya.

I think you will very unhappy if you mount it on the carry handle. I suggest removing it and getting a Nikon M-223 mount, YOu might also want to check out the M-223 line of scopes. The 3-12x42 with Rapid Action Turret might really surprise you. I don't have one freind who hasn't tried mine out and not bought one. Hard to argue with that. Leupold VX II 3x9x50mm scope on a rem. 270. One year old. Worked fine last year. Sighted in last week at range. Windage was dead on. Wanted to move up 1 inch in hieght at 25 yards. Tried to adjust hieght...

16 clicks is about 4" at 100 yards not 25. did you try shooting it at 100 yards? remember the scope is mounted at least an inch and probably higher than that above the barrel. at close range you will always hit low with a scope because the bullet has to climb at least an inch or more before it will be right on at 25 yards. if it is dead on at 25 it should hit way high at 100. (or the scope/ mounts are bad).

In the process of zeroing the scope in I noticed that I can adjust the elevation of the scope up but can't set the adjustment down as far as I need to go in order to be sighted in. This is the first time...

There are a few things that it could be. Make sure you have the scope mounted with the elevation screw on top and the windage screw on the right side. Next, carefully check the distance of the scope from the receiver. If the mounts aren't exactly the same, the scope could be tilted upward. Try switching the front and rear mounts. Make sure you don't have either of the mounts on backwards. Make sure the scope is built for the caliber you are shooting.

If none of these fix your problem, Leupold scopes are guaranteed for life.

Meade LX200GPS The scope does not complete the 'Auto Alignment'

Once the scope has taken a GPS fix and knows TIME, and SITE, and you do a two star alignment your alignment stars overide any automatic alignment issues.

You could turn off the GPS put in Time, Date, and Site, do a two star alignment and everything would be fine. Centering the alignment stars is the "trick". Apparently the scope also finds NORTH OK, or the alignment stars would be way off. Since you pre-level the tripod already the software can FAIL on "tilt" and you still get good gotos.

I would not worry about it, especially since your gotos seem perfectly fine.

Can you lay a refrigerater down flat to transport it

Yes as long as the coils that carry the freon is located on the top side of the compressor when laying down. Look at the lines on the compressor. You should see 2 of them. 1 larger than the other. Imagine you are tilting the refrigerator. If the lines are on the right side you can it down on it's left side ok. If they are on the left side you lay the fridge down on it;s right side. Hope this helps.

Crosshairs have turned anti clockwise

Probably the rings on the scope have loosened and the body of the scope has pivoted to the left. To correct it, you need to put the gun in a gun vise or in a cleaning stand to hold the gun straight. Then you would need to confirm that the scope has tilted to the left. You will have to loosen up the rings and turn the scope so that it is upright. The best way to make sure is to use a scope level. Lay the scope level on top of the scope turrent to confirm that the top of the scope is level. Sighting thru the scope you should be able to confirm that the cross hairs of the scope are now level. Carefully re-tighten the scope rings to the manufacturers torque recommendations. Then the scope should operate properly.
