I just replaced my pool pump motor and after getting it reconnected I am having to turn the pump on with the breaker. The manual switch with the intermatic timer is not working at all. What do you think?

THE MOTOR MUST BE HOOKED UP TO THE LOAD SIDE OF THE TIMER AND THE 2 WHITE WIRES MUST GO TO LINE(THEY SUPPLY THE POWER TO THE TIMERS CLOCK MOTOR) OR IT MAY HAVE BURNT THE CONTACTS OF THE TIMER.. YOU CAN SEE IF YOU CAN BREAK THEM FREE AND SAND THEM DOWN. WAA LAA .. COOL FIX OR IT MIGHT BE YOUR TIMER MOTOR HAS GONE BAD, THERE IS A WINDOW YOU CAN LOOK THREW TO SEE THE GEARS TURNING(TOP RIGHT) OF TIMER.. IF THE TIMER MOTOR IS BAD ? THERE IS A GUY SELLING INTERMATIC Timer MOTOR CHEAP ON EBAY YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW WHAT VOLTAGE YOU HAVE.. IF'N I WAS HELP.. VOTE OR COMENT. ..THNX JAY

Breakers are usually located in the control panel
Push breaker fully OFF and then fully on
Check that breaker voltage is same as motor... for example if breaker is supplying 240V to pump, but pup is set up for 120Volt, then pump will not work.
Use override switch on timer to see if you can manually start the pump
Check that timer dial rotates ... 1 full turn for each 24 hours

I have a hayward pump model SP2610X15 that will only hum when turned on. I replaced the capacitor, it did not help. What else could be the problem?

DIRTY START switch or the motor is locked up, breaker off ! remove motor from tank body and see if the motor will turn over if it does could be the switch or the motor is shorted witch there is no fix but a new or rebuilt motor. search your area for your local pool pump motor repair guy with free testing..

two main reasons breaker trips is the pump motor jammed [not turning]or the heater shorted out --disconnect power open access panel disconnect the lines to the heater turn on power if breaker trips than motor /pump problem if doesnt trip than heater problem can order heater replacement online or pool spa store--if motor pump check pump for debris and motor for lube if u can turn shaft or impeller oil motor and work it into bearings if still not turning possible need to replace motor unit

The motor may have blown the start capacitor. It is the black cylinder about 1-1/2" dia x 2-1/2" long. Look at the end with the wires for a small hole. Is it blackened or have a hole blown thru? If so replace it. Otherwise have a local electric motor repair shop look at it for possible repair or replacement.
