Question about Audio Players & Recorders
The unit should store FM stored settings without a battery backup. As long as it is plugged in, the memory for the FM side of the circuit board should do the same thing, logically, as the AM mode side of things.

I think the board is defective.
The manual is no longer available for this model.
I used to work for radio shack in the 1990s and these fax back documents look familiar. But, I think that this Optimus Receiver is not repairable anymore, even by the Radio Shack service centers.
